Grange Grill Sign With My CNC - TILING!!

This is the making of a sign for The Grange Grill, which is a food booth at our local fairgrounds. It is nearly 8 foot long by 2 foot wide. This was created on my Onefinity Elite Foreman CNC, so I had to do this in three tiles. This was my very first attempt at doing something this large, and my first attempt at tiling.

Thanks to Joe DiLaura for suggesting to do the v carve tool path first then followed by the clearing tool paths. This was a game changer for sure! The amount of fuzzies to be dealt with at the end was reduced by at least 90%. Unbelievable results!

That turned out fantastic, especially for your first tiling project!! Great job!! You had mentioned the possible conflicting measurements between your tape and the Masso. The 100% surefire way to get it exact is to let the Masso measure it for you, as you had mentioned. I’ve did it both ways and it all works out in the end anyway. Those little 1/16” misaligned edges look like a big deal when it’s still laying on the CNC bed, but those things disappear when viewed from just a few feet away. You did great and I’m sure the owner was super pleased with his new sign. 😊👍

Thanks! I did this practically for free since I volunteer at this food booth. I’m the vice president (Overseer) of our local grange. So I charged around $50 over the cost of the materials. I’m hoping to get more business from it. And yes, those slight imperfections sanded right out anyway. Thanks and keep up the great videos!! I watch them all!

If the edge you’re using as the reference isn’t perfectly straight, that would cause the mismatch in the tiling as you slide the sign to each new section.

Thanks for watching and commenting! I was using bench dogs in the 3/4” holes in my waste board. It could be the material that wasn’t perfectly straight, but I did use the factory edge and not the edge I made when cutting the 4x8 sheet down the middle.
