I just want to admire Granger for stepping in every time Amber was fighting back tears. Everytime she had to answer and she was struggling with the amount of emotion around this topic and holding back tears ( being the most brave and amazing woman ever), he looked her in the eye and continued for her. I truely felt like watching that he was telling her "I got you babe". I love that more than anything. I see the true love there!!!

Our daughter Hannah was 34 month's old when she drowned. She unlocked our gate, used a chair, could swim and I know the immersion into cold water was what contributed to her death. We founded Hannah's Foundation in Australia and we've spoken in the USA on drowning. More discussion needs to happen on the layers. I worked on Hannah for 17 minutes, Ambulance for another 14min and then she was gone. She was in the water for less than 2 minutes because we have recorded timeliness. You're story resonates so much xxxx.

It breaks my heart. I saved a little 2 year old. We were sitting around a bonfire and the older kids were watching the little ones. I'd keep checking on them. One time I went to check on them. The little man thought he'd lean over the side and fell in .. i didnt think I could have moved that fast. I don't think I ever screamed so loud in my life. I ran into him and his family about a year ago .. OMG!! He's one heck of a Tall young man. 17 years old. 6' 3" . I thank God I was able to be there when I was. If it was 5 minutes later. This family is the best. After hearing about the drowning I started looking them up and watched their youtube channel. Such really great Christians and you see that in them. Since watching them I have gotten closer to God, reading my Bible, reading devotionals and praying several times a day. Amber has Arise With Amber on youtube Sunday mornings I never miss. Granger sings country music but he's not like some of the other country artist. He has got to be the most HUMBLE guy I have ever seen. They teach family values and their children will grow up having much more respect for the little things in life compared to some of the artist that live in mansions and have everything. They make my day when I see the videos. I have so much respect for this family and much respect for the interview. This was very sweet and caring for such a tragedy. Natalie, you did very well. As Granger would say, "YEEYEE !" God Bless everyone

They are still in denial and blame the pool. They are not strong but they are avoiding the responsibility that was theirs, to keep the kid safe. They failed. That story about the lock is a confusing mess. A toddler will not open a lock. He will push a door.....so the lock was not LOCKED. Dad was practicing some dancing moves with his daughter, so he says......Who was watching the toddler ? no one. Did mom think the toddler was big enough to entertain himself ? I guess she did. You cannot take your eyes off, little kids......That is how they stay safe. They do not drown, do not get kidnapped or do not get ran over by cars.......Little kids survive if their parents are vigilant. If they are not, they are in constant danger.

A child can drown right in front of their parent. I was in Galveston at a hotel and was walking by the pool. I saw a child floundering in the water as his mother was in the pool ten feet away. She was drinking and talking to someone. I yelled out that her kid was drowning and she shrieked and grabbed him. He was so quiet and not making a noise. Thankfully they got to him in time but I don't know what would have happened if I hadn't walked by.

When my youngest daughter took swimming lessons I had her wear swim shoes. It was something the instructor was against because it makes it harder to swim and somewhat uncomfortable for the child. But the reality is as stated in this video many children who drown are not dressed for swimming. This family is so courageous. I hope God brings them peace.

Under circumstances like this it is inevitable to do some heart searching. "Could I have done this?" "If only I had done that ". It is clear from the interview there is no guilt. I also found out that there are many many other similar tragedies where nothing could have been done. As they said, it only took seconds. Amber and Granger will continue to live with their pain but I pray that they recognise how powerfully God is using them and River and how strong a rock they are for others.

What a beautiful couple. I've never heard such a detailed depiction of the reality of a child drowning. It is such invaluable information. Such a wealth of information. What a great interview. This is the first time I have ever understood about child drowning. They are helping so many people. He is so intelligent and articulate, honest and real. And Amber is such a sweet soul. This was an incredible interview. Morales knocked it out of the park because she was a quiet interviewer and real. The key was the length of the interview. It so rarely happens that people are given beyond 5 minutes. This was really great.

When I worked at the Walmart in College Station , Texas, I used to speak with one of their family members each time he came in. He always spoke about how great and loved the kids are , he also spoke about how great of parents Granger and his wife are. The first time I helped this gentleman , he was buying supplies to make a big red bow for Granger’s son’s service . I am truly so sorry for your loss 😔 I do believe in Heaven, and one day God will reunite him with you . Your family is in my prayers and thoughts.

We miss you River Kelley! 🎈🦋❤️

My heart aches for both of you. About 30 years ago while my husband was on the fire department he went on a call for a missing 2 year old. It was winter. They found him a few doors down in the neighbors pool, under the winter cover. The people had left the gate to their yard open. To this day it bothers him. He notices going by homes with pools and their gates are open. So please let people know that even if you don't have children you need to think of the children who live around you. Please know that I'm praying for all of you.

Whenever, I sell a house with a pool to a family I always warn them about the stats gingerly. Kids are so fast. Pools, tubs, lakes should always be looked at with huge respect. Kids are ingenious and will find a way. I am so sad for these folks. With our pool we had a regular fence and screened in area and a 5' mesh fence (I know they are unattractive but, they really do work to keep kids out along with pool wave alarms) I always recommend these to clients. It just can happens so fast and I have heard so many of these stories. We had a friends child fall into our pool. We were all there watching. My daughter jumped in and saved her. This can happen anywhere. This can happen to anyone. Praying for healing for this amazing family.

It cannot happen anywhere, stay away from pools. It cannot happen to anyone. Young children and adults have no business in large bodies of uncontrolled waters like rivers, lakes and possibly even some beaches. Children under 15 should not be in a pool without a life vest. It's not magic. You say you were all watching them why didn't you all jump in?? Why would your daughter have to do that??

I almost drowned when I was a kid, it was after swimming lessons, and I decided to try and practice, my sister began screaming on top of her lungs and saved my life. They are right, a kid does not know what to do, I remember panicking and breathing in the water and thinking I was dying.

A little boy I used to take care of drowned at 18 months. It took 3 minutes to get his heartbeat back and he was in the pool for an unknown amount of time. (His father was stoned on the couch and his mother came to pick him up and found him in the pool). He was in a coma for a couple days and by some miracle, he woke and had no deficits. He was actually very advanced and is working on a medical degree now.

3 years is enough time to really get to know your child's innocent fun loving personality. Its also enough time for your child to express their innocent unconditional love toward their parents. I can't imagine how much these parents miss their little vibrant boy. Its a pain that no person should have to endure.
