There's a couple reviews online. About a guy whose head won for a year and a half and two years. He also has a seasoning video on how to keep it going good. And he doesn't have hundreds of pans. So you know he uses those. Backyard chickens and outdoors Can't remember his name

I've had a granite rock pan for over a year now. I remember watching your review a year ago and can't remember if I bought it before or after the review, but it was around the same time. I also had the blue diamond before it, which the blue diamond I thought was really good when I got it but didn't last long as one time stuff got stuck to it and it never recovered. The granite rock is the best pan I've ever used, I've absolutely abused mine, seasoned it and used metal utensils on it, cut things on it, put it in the oven, actually burned my hand twice on the handle after taking it out of the oven and forgetting it was still hot, probably used it at least 200+ times. It's a little discolored around the edges because I'm messy, maybe a little rust or burnt residue on the outer metal rim, but the surface I cook on looks brand new, still functions like it's brand new too. FYI I'm the kind of guy to cook eggs, just wipe with a paper towel, then cook a steak on it later, then some other stuff and I might leave it dirty in my sink for a few days or until I decide I need to cook again. I recommend this pan to everyone. I prefer using this skillet over grilling outside, much more convenient and I've cooked many steaks on it. It's basically a cast iron skillet that you don't have to worry about it rusting or throwing in the dishwasher or oiling. It's so convenient and I can't go back to any other skillet. I have a big circular one, and I plan on buying the bigger square one eventually, I might keep that one nicer.

@@rushrule1 it's been a year since you made your comment. How did your experience turn out? Previously I was looking at Cast Iron pans, and so many people talk about "Seasoning" it as in never use dish soap and to keep it oiled when finished using. Briefly googling that word with these pans that seems to be the same case. He probably wasn't caring for it properly removing the non-stick seasoning.

So when I watched the vid last year, I was super interested in a durable, and effective non-stick pan. The way you ran the tests comparative to how they did it gave a great example of how effective it was with little to manipulation. I was considering on getting one of these, but never did. Watched this now, and definitely with the aging test and retesting, it still holds up extremely well. You may not be sponsored, but I'm extremely likely to buy a full set or two of these (if there was a set). Their quality and durability, plus your care tips and in depth demonstrations show the full effectiveness of this pan. Well done. Edit: I am more than happy to support you by using your affiliate Amazon link to buy the pans. Normally if I don't have a desire to support a person's affiliate link (be it because they just gave a quick article and slapped a link in there, or made a 1 paragraph forum post with a link), I'll copy the location and come back to it from the outside and get an item. For you though, I'll see to it that I use yours.

I was searching for a good nonstick pan back in March and I stumbled across your video and it convinced me to try the Granite Rock skillet. I have used it almost every day for all that time and it is still going strong. The ONLY difference I noticed from then to now is that when I first bought it, not even water would stick to the pan when I washed it; didn't even have to dry it after washing. Now, after rinsing, there are a few beads of water left. However, food never sticks to it and it still works fantastic for cooking. I also bought some Tfal nonstick pans at the same time and they all work great too- but I don't use them nearly as much as I do the Granite Rock pan. I think it is important to note that I never knew it was bad to use cooking spray on nonstick pans and I may have ruined all the ones I had in the past because of it. Just in case anyone else is ignorant to that fact....Don't ever use cooking spray on non-stick pans! It eats the non-stick coating.

If anybody's interested I bought a Starfrit "The Rock" frying pan a while ago and it passed all the tests this guy has shown plus a few. Honestly, it was the best pan I had ever used until the three-month mark at which it started to degrade and become "semi-stick" instead of "no-stick". Now you can fry an egg but it doesn't slide around in the butter anymore and when you fry a lot of things all sorts of stuff gets stuck to the bottom. I am now getting ready to throw the thing out even though it sort of works a bit. So forget about the Starfrit "The Rock". Oh, and I was extra careful about not damaging the bottom...

I have been using the Rock (3 different styles) for years, and always use a little (sometimes a lot) of oil. I wipe them out instead of washing, just like granny treated her cast iron, and they are actually better 'cause they are aluminum which has better heat transfer. The aluminum handle never gets hot, unless used in the oven, but hey, you can, and they work great. The only problem I ever had was forgetting to turn the burner off (medium) under the pan, which filled the house with smoke & scorched the finish. My only recourse was to go buy another one. My big one came with a vented glass lid, and I can cook everything with that, including stews, stir fry, chili, you name it. It also has a small "bale" handle on the outer end for heavy loads & it doesn't get hot either. I have used many different types of cookware in the past, but not any more. Thanks for the opportunity to plug this product, it has made my life a whole lot easier.

I'm a household of 5 people ranging from 29yrs to 60yrs, we all cook and we all use the fry pans, I own about 6 different rock fry pans {Medium to large}. I loved them at first and it's been about 5yrs since I've had them and they are just starting to stick in the middle, the crisp, clearness of the pan is now a light brown instead of a vibrant black. Takes a little more to clean than it did in the beginning. I never use any steel utensils on it and I never use an abrasive to clean. I received a letter back from the company and a new pan, inside the letter they were honest in telling me that the none stick isn't for life and the length it will remain depends on usage, heat and what is used in the pan, {Teflon/plastic or steel} I use the plastic and what is used to clean the pan, {abrasive or cloth} I use a cloth. They were impressed that it's lasted as long as it did {none stick} with the amount of people using it each day.

Tried various frying pans over many years. The granite rock pan seems to be the best of the nonstick and cast iron is classic, but I've settled on carbon steel for use from anything from campfire to induction cooktop. Had a little trial-and-error with cleaning and a bit more with keeping it seasoned so that it was rustproof and nonstick, but after hundreds of uses, eggs slide around like it was a new nonstick pan, and it is next to indestructible.

I HAD a Red Copper pan but for some reason it warped after a month of uses. The bottom no longer lay flat on my glass topped stove. To the best of my knowledge I never overheated the pan or tried to cool it down too quickly. Shortly thereafter I noticed that the interior finish was crazing! Red Copper got recycled. Granite Rock, however, has done so well that I purchased a larger version to use for some recipes. The interior did not stick ever, even after washing it in the dishwasher (no, Red Copper never went into the dishwasher)so I for one, am pleased with the pan.

@@BecBec1967 melted jolly ranchers are actually really useful for decorating baked goods. They can create a pretty stained glass for gingerbread houses, for example, or pretty cake/cupcake/cookie decorations that taste good and are not made of globs of frosting or gross fondant.

I bought one about 8 months ago. I don't use metal utensils in it and let it cool slowly. No warping or any visible wear. Works as well today as the day I bought it and I use it for something every night. I use my cast iron to sear and cook meats so it never really sees high temperature use so that might make a difference. A few months after I got this I bought the smaller size to go along with it.

I've had 2 Rock frying pans for 3 or 4 years... used almost daily and often more than once a day ( 5 adults in this house). I LOVE them both still. I will admit that they have been treated pretty badly by some people here. They are not quite as slippery as they used to be due to *someone* who left one of them on the burner, with olive oil no less LOL. That being said, these are my favorites in the world! I have a Zwilling J.A. Henckels Spirit Thermolon Ceramic Nonstick Tri-Ply Clad Pans (also known as Sol CeraForce) which I only keep because it's much larger than my largest "Rock" pan. That one lost its non-stick quality within the first 8 months. I was at Canadian Tire (yes I'm Canadian) and checked out the Rock pans there. I think I'll stick to my old ones because they felt so light and flimsy compared to what I have now. If someone can tell compare the heavy substantial Rock against the new flimsy ones I'd love to see it. You see, I have RA, which is getting worse, and I'm thinking I just might have no choice to buy the light pans in the future. Well... I double checked my pans and I guess we're talking about 2 different animals here. I have "The Rock" pans ... LOVE THEM. These are from Heritage, but I'm not going to remove my post because it still applies.

My wife and I bought a whole set of Bialetti they're still holding well. Its been a 1 1/2 years now. But before we bought the set we bought the small 8 inch fry pan a few months before the set. The coating is 60% gone only because I used it so much and cleaned it with the green scotch brite pad more often than I probably should have.. Even so with limited imitation rock coating food will stick to it.. When using butter to fry eggs at low temperature it's still does fine.. still moves around in the pan without sticking otherwise eggs will stick to the old pan without coating with butter.. Any kind of coated cookware for the stove will not last long when subjected to the high heat setting anyway..

I've had two of the medium size frying pans since they first came out at the store so that was quite a few years ago. They are by far the best cookware I have ever used in my entire life. And I have used a lot of the expensive brands thinking they were going to last me a lifetime or at least 10 years, but I have found that they are all just "HIGH PRICED" with "EXTREMELY LOW QUALITY"!!! Granite Stone cookware is so terrific that I want the whole entire set that is called the "Stack Master" that has the "Entire" set and are Stackable. They all fit perfectly inside of one another. Plus as a bonus you get all of the oven cookware. As soon as I can afford it I am going to buy the "Granite Stone Stack Master" set because I know it will be the last kitchen cookware that I will ever have to purchase again. These are the best out there. And when you love to cook this is the perfect cookware to work with. There's just no other that compares.

I bought a Nuwave induction cooktop which included 2 ceramic coated frying pans. The cooktop still works like a charm, but the frying pans after about a year began to stick and after 3 years were toast! I have friends who bought the Copper Chef and Cathy Mitchell's Red Copper pans and they all say the same. It appears your Blue Diamond pan is also pretty much the same. Is your Granite Rock pan following suit? It would be interesting to test your Granite Rock pan today, 2 years after purchase just to see how well it has lasted. Love your videos! They have given me good food for thought (pardon the pun) in my shopping! John Shaw

We bought a couple of Granite Rock frying pans for our motorhome about 3 years ago, mostly because they were cheap at Canadian Tire. Then, a little over a year ago we got an induction cooktop in our home and needed new cookware that worked with it. We bought a complete set, in the tan color, and they too have performed well. They are all still non-stick and there has been no discoloration.
