Grant, we are so proud of you. As a teaching professional and watching this. I just wished you could have been more committed through your shots. For people that do not or have not played high level tournament golf. Nerves are tough to work through. I loved how you said in the video to control your breathing. Great job Grant. Please do it next year. On another note. I am tired of all the "Haters" towards Micah. Micah, if you read the comments. Keep grinding. I would actually love to see you go spend time with Grants father and dial in your tempo and swing. Your search for your true swing could come down to this. Once again Grant. It is funny how much better a 79 sounds than an 80. Same goes for 39 vs 40 on a 9 hole round. Me and my dad used to joke about that when I played HS golf. Lost him to Parkinson’s and miss him a ton. He came to every single match and tournament. Was there standing green side when I won my first tournament, made my first hole in one, etc. Definitely a gift to have a father who’s that invested in your passions and dreams.

That course looked HARD! Especially those super slopey greens. I was really pulling for George but I am also really happy for Matt Atkins. Getting into the event is a big deal for him as he is a playing professional who is barely getting by feeding his family. @dorothygale1104
@dorothygale1104 Ай бұрын
Yeah, the difference is ond is a sports competition and the other is an entertainment video in which golf is played. The quality of the golf doesn’t matter in a video posted by a KZfaq golfer, as evidenced by the fact that Grant shot a 79 and yet he got a lot of views for this video. Those who watch pro golf on tv (or any other device) are interested in the sports competition of the event, not whether the players are funny or engaging personally. But it is interesting to not that in the qualifying event that Grant played in none of the YT golfers were chatting and chirping like they do in their videos. When golfer’s are competing for prize money or a chance to get into a tournament, they get serious real fast and alk the entertaining banter gets out aside. Grant even noted that George was not the talkative George we see in his videos. If you saw Wesley compete in the Tour event last weekend in which he came in 2nd place, he was dead serious and wasn’t the talkative Wesley from his videos.

It's unfortunate that George's shot ended up like that. I think had he seen Matt do a chip first, he would have played it differently. Also, for Matt to clutch up and drain that putt, I'm not sure people truly appreciate how difficult that is to do in a moment like that. You really need amazing technique that you can fall back on, years and years worth of practice and grinding that allows you to accomplish that in a high pressure moment.

The course didn’t suit a bomber that has no short game. Micah will be hurting, but he needs to sharpen up his short-game and get more putting practice. He is obsessed with what he thinks is his advantage, Distance. Well on tight courses, you need a plan B, Micah doesn’t have that. Bomb and gouge will work on some courses, but you still have to get it in the hole, not sure Micah has the golf brain to realise.

Grant, you shot well! It's a different vibe when you're not just playing for content! Still think the Q should have been limited to just YT golfers. Also, Henry is the GOAT when it comes to caddying. Always positive, always encouraging, calling the right shots. Just awesome seeing you two approach each shot.

The fact that you got to play with someone you know really well should have been a huge relief! Imagine playing with complete strangers you don't know? Understanding with the nerves that you would try and steer the golf ball. It almost looked like you were lined up right on many shots. Thanks for sharing your experience and commentary on what your thoughts were.

Great job, you are really consistent on your other videos, the main difference here is your self talk. Crazy how much it really matters talking to yourself positive or negative.

You gave a good account of yourself young Grant, it is a steep learninng curve and one which must be navigated carefully. Also, don't worry too much about beating yourself up, it means you care with passion and you want to produce the best golf you can. Keep going G.
