Seed Delivery, Tile, Clean-up, and a bit of Field Work! @iowANFarmer stopped by to lend a helping hand on the tile mystery. Hoping to get some tile laid this fall. Also rented a Landoll VT Tool from my neighbor to slice up some downed corn, and knock down some dirt piles that I spread in the field. Safe to say mother nature didn't agree with my plan that day- she was a little too wet out. #plant22
Thanks to Ben for making a visit out here. He's got some great farming content over on his channel!

If you want to see where the tiles go, try photographing the field with a drone a day or so after a good rain. Ground over the tiles should dry out first showing the tile lines. I used to know a guy who did this as a service to farmers in Illinois many years ago. You will probably need to get the drone up pretty high to see it.

always fill your diesel tanks at the end of the day. it will prevent condensation and rust. when a hot tractor with a half empty tank of fuel cools in the evening it causes lots of moisture to build in the tank and rots them out. keep em full after use and youll have little to no issues with rusty tanks in the future

When it’s that wet the compaction you do will usually do more harm than good but awesome video. A good test to see if the ground is too wet is digging about 6 inches down and seeing if the top 2-4will crumble easy. If it crumbles your ready but if it clumps like it did clearly here it’s too wet

We have used a Landoll VT on an 8410 for maybe the past decade at this point. Such a nostalgic pair for me. The tractor just doesn't have the power in wet conditions for that size as you found. Throw our 8360R on it and walk some acres when needed.

I run 6 Link belt excavators 330, 460, and 800 all with Isuzu's . The problem you have costs 89 cents to fix, You have a BANJO fitting connected to a rubber fuel line at the lift pump. Loosen the fitting with a 19mm wrench remove the clamp that holds the rubber fuel line onto the BANJO fitting . Inside the bolt that goes thru the banjo fitting is a plastic rock screen with a very small flat screw driver ,use a counter clock wise motion ,remove the rock screen it should be white in color , I will bet Dollars to Doughnuts it is plugged with crap from the tank . Caution there are copper washers on the bolt that has the rock screen in side it ,don't loose them or that fitting will suck air when you reinstall .This screen is on the supply side fuel line from the tank. Actually you can clean and reuse the screen ,saving you 89 cents.

Yall might look at getting a filter screen that'll fit in the neck of the link belts fuel tank. It'll help catch any debris or particles that might be in the fuel or tank or whatever your using to put fuel in it.

Probably to late by now but you can change the controls on escavators usually there’s a valve sometimes under the floor mat but could be elsewhere that you flip and it will switch how they work.

nice we started ripping on sunday the 24th, also you should put a tuner on your 8110, we have tuner on our 8100 and it works great you can turn it up anywhere from 225 to 275 hp I wouldn't recommend running that thing on the 275 setting all the time because it would make it run pretty hot.

I always remove the tailgate before I let someone load me. Two clips, half closed. Lift side, set aside. Replace later. You are like most. Impatient to get in field. But it snowed Easter Sunday. Corn hit $7.69… diesel is going up faster.

A few facts about clay tile / tile. Clay tile do not let water in anywhere other then the ends. The seams. Clay tile like clay itself seals itself off...expands. When you have trees.....you will have plugged tile lines.....all the way out to 200 feet from a ( larger ) tree. Trees create their own channel for water .... nearly like a tile but not. In spring time and fall trees use very little water. They become dormant for winter. Along a timber line it will always be wet in the spring time because the channels where the trees are.....the water follows......until trees start putting leaves on. Ive trenched along side a timber fence......and when you hit a larger root......if the ground is wet ..the water will squirt out like a water hose......because you interrupted the trees natural tile line. This property has been neglected for years !!! Remove the trees .....brush........and once every........say 5 years.....spray and kill all the grass over the tile line. Including waterways ! Never spray and kill the entire water way. Kill the grass in ......say 200 foot strips......leave 200 foot ...kill another 200 foot. No need to reseed....the seed is on the ground from year gone by. Sodding.......or raised water ways are cause " only by roots raising the ground up because its filled with roots. This is why..if you have a garden in the middle of your lawn.......and kill / till an area.....the next year that area will be lower. Root from grass are gone/ dead. Same as in water ways !!!!

Hey Grant, have you ever though I about getting a land roller, it would be good for you beans ground but no use on what you plan on planting corn on. If you roll your bean ground after you plant it it will put some corn stocks that you planted into, into the ground so that you aren’t scooping them up in the fall with your combine. Just a suggestion that I could see benefitting your oporation. Love the farming vids man

Would honestly love to rent one if I get time at end of bean planting. I hear it makes it super nice for combining, hopefully would pay for itself possible if I can get more beans in the combine at a lower head height or just not suck a rock through it!! Not sure though, would be nice to try!

If your going to notill your beans get some copperhead closing wheels on your planter. Standard rubbers aren't real good in notill. The copperheads will close the seed trench and your get a better stand. Best planter add on I've ever done.

Iv been battling rust in the tank on a ASV RC 85 for a year two injection pumps ruined .Filters always full of rust .Tank rust is a major problem.Cleaned the tank several times and still rust.My fuel pick up was draining everything from the bottom of the tank.I cut a hole 3inches above the bottom of the tank and welded a fitting and attacked the fuel line. All the rust is setteling in the bottom of the tank and my pick up is now above the rust and bottom af the tank. When you get rust in the tank you will always have rust in the tank..

If it’s been sitting very long there is a good chance you’ve got algae growing in that tank. Cleaning it out won’t kill it either, you’ll need to pick up a bottle of treatment. Any fuel dealer will sell it.

Do you guys have access to one of those inspection cameras with the long flexible cable. It would allow you to have a good look at the inside of that tank. Then you could tell if or how bad it is damaged on the inside. It may just need a good pressure wash. Things like that unfortunately have a way of haunting you forever unless you tackle them head on.
