I'm crazy too about Crazy. Her aura scream sexy even in just giving interview or in reality show. Jessi had a comment about that in Showterview with Hyuna and that explains a lot. A short background of her, she debuted at the age of 14 in Wonder Girls she was with them for almost 2 years and being pulled out by her parents because of health issue and then after a year she debuted with 4minute. HyunA is a legend in the industry, she has been in the game for more than 15 years. She started in Wonder Girls but left shortly because of health complications. She later redebuted with 4Minute. 4Minute was very popular from the beginning because people already knew of HyunA because of wonder girls. 4Minute was a very versatile group which is why Volume Up and Hate both sound completely different, they never really stuck to one concept because they did it all. Cutesy (ex: Heart to Heart), girl crush (ex: What’s Your Name?), sexy (ex; is it poppin? Whatcha doin today?), harder concepts (ex: Hate, Crazy) they were a strong group with a strong vocal line, a strong dance line, and a strong rap line. As for HyunA’s solo career, she’s always been extremely successful, her debut as a soloist was Change and it went viral in Korea for the pelvic thrust dance in the chorus. She pretty much made herself a staple in the industry with Bubble Pop which earned her the title of first ever female Kpop soloist to have an MV surpass 100+m views. All of her comebacks were successful and always met with shock and a bit of controversy as HyunA is known to push the boundaries. She does what she wants and something that I find empowering is the fact that she’s stated in past interviews that she likes embracing her sexuality because she wants females to feel empowered and if a guy can do it, so can a female. Still to this day she continues to pave the way for other idols, debuting in a duo with her boyfriend. I’m hoping we slowly see more idols openly date and see that a relationship doesn’t mean the end of your career as HyunA is still thriving.

I love that they react to one of the most iconic groups of the second generation of kpop. I am 4NIA (name of the group's fandom) since they practically debuted, I always carry them in my heart. Making some comments on what you reacted to; Hyuna is a legend, she debuted in various iconic groups, she had a duet (Trouble Maker), a trio (Triple H) and currently a soloist and duet with her boyfriend DAWN. A veteran of kpop! By the way, Volume Up was one of the most iconic comebacks of 2012 and if I remember correctly, one of the most expensive videos of its time. "Hate" was produced by Dj "Skrillex" at the end of 2014 and delivered to the 4Minute company, even the girls took photos with Skrilex when they were working together :) you can see them on internet. In Korea, the music did not receive him well since at that time “Gfriend” was hitting hard but internationally it was a BOOM! Hey there, just found your stuff yesterday and I'm really loving your reactions! 4minute's song HuH is the first kpop song I heard, back at the very beginning of 2012, and what got me to start exploring kpop, so they have a very special place in my heart. Hyuna has always been viewed as extremely sexy, even in 4minute, but there was a massive discourse at the time about it. There seemed to be an opinion that sexy concepts were okay, but only if it was "classy", and people argued *constantly* about how Hyuna was not being "classy" with her sexiness. So she was simultaneously extremely popular, but constantly criticized for being so open about sexuality. I skimmed through your comments for this, but didn't see anyone explain Red, so if you know this by now, I apologize for explaining. Red uses a popular children's rhyme as the basis for the lyrics. It chains words together, by saying, "a monkey's but is red, red is an apple, an apple is delicious," and so on. But it only gets through the first line, because instead of saying that an apple is red, she instead says Hyuna is red, implying that Hyuna is delicious in turn. Essentially, it uses "red" as a synonym for "sexy". So it also got a lot of criticism for sexualizing herself using a children's rhyme. I personally love it, but that's kind of how that went down. It actually worked out well for her, though, because every time she got push back for a sexy concept, she just leaned more into it, and eventually really was able to carve out this niche that has propelled her to the heights she has now reached. As for 4minute themselves, the main vocalist whom you referred to as "smooth" is Gayoon. She hasn't put out any music for a while, unfortunately, and has been doing a few small acting projects instead. I believe she intends to stick with acting from now on, as well, as she signed with her current company for acting exclusively. She did have a subunit with Jiyoon (lead vocalist and lead rapper) called 2Yoon that did a lighthearted "country music" concept that I still adore for its catchiness and silliness. Jiyoon is still releasing music, but under the name Jenyer instead now. Her stuff is quite good, and I do recommend checking her out! The last two members, leader/lead dancer/vocalist Jihyun and maknae/lead dancer/rapper Sohyun, both also joined other entertainment companies as actresses, and haven't done a lot since. 4minute never really were loved as they deserved. They had a dedicated and stable following, and one that was continuing to grow right up until their (honestly unexpected) disbandment, but they always hovered around midtier for girl groups of their time. Hyuna was easily more successful alone than the group was. They had consistently good music and concepts, and seemed to fit whatever they were going for. Most 4nia are of the opinion that they had truly found their place with Crazy and Hate, and that they disbanded so quickly after Hate's success was a massive misstep on their company's part. Granted, their contracts were ending soon, so that was likely the deciding factor, but that there was little to no warning came as a shock. So yeah, thank you for reacting to this, and I'll probably be commenting on more of your older stuff as I work through it! I'm a massive Astro fan, and it's exciting to see that you love them also!

To me Hyuna will never not be sexy but she's also idk seems more her now sensual and cute at the same time if that makes sense. Idk I feel like Psy gets her and her style now has evolved. I personally don’t care for her latest. My last favorite HyunA song was “lip and hip”. But I feel like ever since that, she dropped the “cute and sexy” theme she’s known for and went full on “joker’s girlfriend”. I’d say my all time favorite from her is between red, lip and hip, or bubble pop. Really depends on my mood. But I do love change, ice cream, and babe. And I think flower shower is lack luster but okay. Edit: I meant she dropped the cute and sexy theme after flower shower, I liked her look a lot in that video. But anything after flower shower was not my taste looks wise.
