New State-of-the-Art lightweight Graphene Supercaps charge in 5-10 minutes. The 16V graphene module will easily start a car with a dead battery and could virtually replace the battery itself.

Thank you for you work Mike, i'm really happy with the performance of the supercap module. One concern I have is that the positive cable lead is a bit too of a "loose end" that could contact the case. I think the positive cable would be better as a detachable with well type connection insert into the module.

@@BlackHeartScyther Hey mate, I have three of these cap banks which are all tied together with a LiFePO4 battery pack. zero issues, my numbers and findings coincide with the video. Found that you really need to get up the packs to appropriate volatage inorder to ensure you get the Whrs needed - Buck/Boost converters came in handy for me here. Although purchased for private use, I've used them in some of my R&D applications at work (EV industry) which excellent results. Another thing to note - I play with maxwell 2600F cap banks quite a bit, and this unit despite only being limited by the guage of the leads that it comes with, with regard to instantaneous discharge duty (non issue + not intended application) still out runs the maxwells. Hope that helps.

Can they store as much energy as lithium and you said that you can charge them fast so I wonder if I could charge them with a dump load from a wind turbine ? If so that would be great for not wasting energy and storing it for later.
@jumonjii
@jumonjii 2 жыл бұрын
They can't. They aren't batteries. They don't have the density of batteries. You could dump the load from wind turbines into them though. You'd have to wire a bunch of them together...which would be cost prohibitive. They also discharge quickly, so you'd need some circuitry to regulate the discharge.
@norm8380

@@norm8380 If Mike where alive, he could explain why. I can only assume he refers to them as "batteries" because the average Joe interested in these doesn't take the time to learn the difference. Capacitors can store energy LIKE a battery. How they store, charge and discharge are different.

These kind of capacitors are head and shoulders above anything we have seen in the past. Why on Earth haven't Tesla purchased the right to these products. I mean the sheer discharge current these things would be capable of would be insane. How the hell are you able to best companies like Maxwell?
@m3sca1
@m3sca1 4 жыл бұрын
Usually it's about timing the delivery of upgrades, and milking the cow as long possible before using a new cow. In this case it is also tied the auto industry which has to jump through hoops and regulations for road tax and such, but there is another even more prohibitive problem. The charge rate. It takes an upgrade to most houses just to charge the Lithium cells. Put graphene down instead and the graphene would suck the juice out of the wall as quick it could and burn up existing wiring if not upgraded to suit. Work arounds would be limit the current...but then you slow down the charge back to the rate of battery charging speeds. They are better suited to braking applications and filling from trickle sources at this stage cos we don't have infrastructure to deal with how quick a graph cap will gulp for a whole cities worth of E cars.
@RNA0ROGER
@RNA0ROGER 4 жыл бұрын
That makes sense to a degree
@PMMG4HYBRID
@PMMG4HYBRID 4 жыл бұрын
It's not as problematic as that. Any charger connected to mains power that is set to operate within the rated current of the assigned breaker in the panel box will charge the graphene supercaps very quickly without hardly warming up any wiring, and never throw a breaker. No house upgrade needed.
@Blutsaugher
@Blutsaugher 4 жыл бұрын
It's because capacitors and batteries serve different purposes. I don't know what kind of capacitors Tesla uses, but I, for certain can tell you they want to deliver the best product before the competition does. Conspiracy hoaxes require everyone to be in, and they simply are not. You can quickly do a Google search on an energy density table and find lithium high there as the best chemical energy storage.
