Graphing Exponential Functions (Learn Algebra 2)

Learn how to graph exponential functions in this video by Mario's Math Tutoring. We discuss the parent function as well as a general equation for graphing exponential functions. We discuss how to find the horizontal asymptote in addition to how to tell whether a function is growth or decay. We also look at the exponential growth model and exponential decay model and how to apply it in a word problem. Lastly we discuss the formula for calculating compound interest.

I do not understand how you only have 617 viewers! You explain so clearly and briantly. You do not repeat yourself for the student to doze off and miss something important in the white noise many teachers make. You are simply brilliant. You ought to find a way to advertise so that millions of students can use your knowledge. If I have a problem or want to refresh my memory I always refer to your videos. Remember I was in high school, the function graph with transformation always was a nightmare for me. My lecture taught this topic as a disaster.

Is there a systematic approach to doing the reverse? That's given two points, to find the exponential function that contains those two points? Challenge questions on my kid's Algebra 1 homework.

Yes you need to make a system of equations and do a substitution…I need to do a separate video on the topic …
