HEY HI i tried to explain the value graph to the best of my abilities but i know it can be rlly confusing so if you have any questions feel free to ask ! i tried to include the things that confused me most in the beginning so hopefully this helps someone ! ilysm here are the timestamps so u dont have to watch the whole thing if u dont need to or just want the references

Oh my goodness! Thank you so much. I'm new to ae, and I think everyone can agree that it can be confusing especially the graphs, (since I've also never been good in math and anything that deals with graphs), but I'm trying to hang in there. I'm so glad there are people like you helping us newbies out, and also your tutorials are always so good! If you don't mind me asking. How long have you been editing with after effects, and how long did it take you to really get the hang of things?

that makes me so happy to hear ! thank you for taking the time to tell me that :") i promise things get easier as you go along and the math u need to do starts becoming easier aswell since it helps you memorize things, i've been editing with ae since later 2017 ! it took me about 3 months to start being able to understand most basic stuff ! but i would say i only started really understanding everything to a full extent a little under a year ago :)

that’s what holding shift does, it makes it go straight horizontally ! i didn’t specify that in the video i’m sorry :(

that’s not a keyboard shortcut you just have to do it manually

okay when u go on the graphs there should b on the bottom lik 2 scribbles that says "fit all graphs to view" it should pop up then i believe if u were still having trouble w that? and for the f9 u hav to lik highlight both keyframes then press f9.

hey ! whenever i move the knobs on the graph while holding shift , suddenly my line doesn't move and reverts back to being at the top of the graph . i still try to drag it down but it doesn't go anywhere , im sorry if this is veryyy confusing for you . i just don't know how to explain it . (i have a windows btw ) any suggestions on how to fix it or what's going wrong ?

i think i understand what you mean ! holding shift keeps it straight horizontally, if you hold shift it won’t go down so don’t hold shift if you wanna move it freely but if you just wanna keep it straight then hold shift :)

i think i might understand what ur saying and that happens to me sometimes too, it’s just a weird ae glitch so just delete the keyframe and put a new one wherever you want it to be !
