a. Access bottom floor
b. Obtain nuclear codes
c. Prevent missile from launching
d. Disarm spare missile
e. Vanquish leader

Descent Reimagined is a remake of ZKA's Descent level, if that wasn't obvious. Quite an upgrade, too. Way better balance, much more detailed, and a much better experience in the end. The level features an Easter Egg which I show by destroying all three Martini glasses, which changes the final boss back to the one from the classic Descent version.

This is incredible! I knew mid level cutscenes were a thing, but to have more than one and an opening cutscene? I have never seen this before in Goldeneye. Then there is the idea of revealing secrets, to change the course of the level? Combined with the texture work, and some great pacing, this was Fantastic!

@@shokata9923 I need to start by saying this is not just my mod, there is an impressive team working on it. I am just the director. I would love to give an exact release date, but since the project is volunteer, it can only be completed during spare time. Could be possible the mod is completed by the end of the year or it could take another 3 years. It all depends on how the time goes.

Shotgun with proper pumping sound is so much cooler than without! Enemy with shotgun felt more menacing than the ones in the vanilla game. Also, love the ubiquity of the king of royalty free music composer's songs, even bad guys are using them. lol

one of the best GE007 custom levels ever. GE maps editor is really great and underrated. looks like a 2004 PC FPS game at 1080p.

More like 1998. This level uses a ton of Half-Life 1 textures. I also think I might see a few Duke 3D textures sprinkled about, but can't be totally sure. It looks like the textures may have been downsized to fit into the N64's memory from how blurry they are compared to the originals.

The final boss changes from a balaclava guy with two shotguns to the classic Descent boss with two magnums.

Duuuuude!! that was DOPE!! I loved that Mishkin had rocket launchers, excellent touch, excellent weapon of choice for him, the next General. Also loved the cutscenes. That shotgun was nice, too 😯 this was prolly your best video, yet. 🤦🏻♂️😎👌🏼🙌🏼

I always thought the sound design for this game was so cool as a kid, now as an adult who knows a *lot* more about guns than I did as a kid, the sound design for this game is an absolute trip of hilarity. chunky CHUNKY pew pew

Numa numa!! I love the end gun battle around the nuke - truly epic. I have a question though: the soldiers in all of these custom levels feel like they're, I dunno, dumber than in legit levels. Like, they don't respond to gunfire or movement like I remember. Is this accurate? Is there any way to turn up the intelligence of the bad guys?

It's the same on the original game most of the time, if they have no visual with someone being attacked and you don't make much noise they won't react.

The lighting on this map is a step above that of any other I've seen. Looks like per vertex lighting, very cheap to compute by todays standards, but I wonder, does this map run on an actual n64?

Yes it does! Most custom levels do run on real hardware.

@Graslu00 Nice to hear. How's performance on actual hardware for this map, or others like it? I'm seeing a lot higher and condensed polycount in this map than stock Goldeneye and I know the engine struggles in those situations

There's an old attempt called Dual Eyes but it doesn't quite work properly and is more of a proof of concept. A true co-op mod will have to wait until the game is fully decompiled.

Another nice one. What I still don´t understand is why noone tries to make the levels that didn´t make it to the the original GoldenEye game and use the storyline from the film,... You know some of the stuff from Monaco and St Petersburg.

The attack was on the provider not the site itself, it's safe to download them. The only leftover from that is that the search function is still disabled.

I found this custom mission very funny because of the part where you activate the radio and you hear the music "numa numa" hahahahaha, and that at the end against the leader, after a shootout, you end up killing him with your fists xd.

No, you have to play them through the original game. There's a tutorial in the description, but if the link doesn't work as KZfaq broke it, just search 1964 GoldenEye tutorial on KZfaq, click on mine.
