This is the right way to flip a boat. There's value in the hard work and expertise that goes into making it right for a buyer. A lot of flippers don't know anything about getting a boat right for a buyer, instead they lie and mislead people for a quick profit. A good example is, checking the lower unit, finding milky oil, putting in new oil and saying it's been freshly serviced, without fixing anything at all.

You sure spotted a diamond in the rough there. Well done on seeing through the leaves and ferns and spotting the potential in the old girl. It's absolutely incredible how well the hull and motor cleaned up and for the motor to be in such good mechanical condition.....WOW!!! Not even a carb clean or impeller change needed!!!! Well done champ - you deserve the good fortune and as always thanks for the video.

I live in Michigan and have several aluminum boats ranging from 12 to 18ft and different styles. I drive around and if I see a boat that looks like it hasn't been used in years, and if it interests me I knock and inquire. I want a fiberglass center console, but I have similar apprehensions as you...stringers, transom, etc. Good luck in your quest.

I just bought my 20ft Bullet w 225XS mercury! I’m now selling my 1 owner ME ,06 18ft Ranger w 150 Optimax it’s perfect, I bought it brand new it only has 30 hours on it! I’m asking 20k, it’s all ways been garaged! So their you go, this same package today cost 59k!
@ammoalamo6485
@ammoalamo6485 3 жыл бұрын
@@jimmycline4778 That $59k boat, and even the $20k boat, are the reasons why people are looking for a bargain watercraft. It is extremely difficult to justify paying the price of a new car for something that gets used 30 hours per year or less. A boat really does not appear to have that much cost of materials and labor built to justify the high price. Sure when you get into the fancy yacht-like cabin cruisers you pay for fine woodwork and joinery and design, but a bass boat, a ski boat, a party boat - they are very basic as far as not having any fine materials. Looking at Cragslist I see lots of boats here in North Texas. The prices are all over the map for fishing and family recreation boats like the ones this guy refurbishes.

I do this quite a bit. The way i go about it is: if i can buy a trailer for a fair price with a “boat and motor parts” on it, its worth a shot. One thing to note also is that many older motors are actually worth more on parts then selling it running. For example, many people would happily over pay for a good lower unit to keep their old motor going vs spending a few k on a new motor.

BS! First 10 secs, the ladies husband got sick and had to get get rid of stuff due to moving. As an honest person and a boat person I know that is a 1k motor all day and boat hull 1k all day. 2k total+. She obviously is in a stressful situation where you could of helped her instead of robbing her. I used to be a fan of the boat guy, now questioning myself. I hope after he sells the boat he gives her 50% , -$100. If this is your way of living...pretty disgusting life.

Did I say that 2020 he didn’t even know if the hull was salvage able. He didn’t know the motor ran or had a cracked block. He just thought the trailer was good condition. There is a lot of factors

Absolutely insane what a little bit of elbow grease and basic motor mechanical knowledge can do for some of these!

Those boats are rock solid. I seen that add on Facebook marketplace.. thought about getting it , but still gotta finish my whaler. Crappy Florida weather is limiting my boat work. Especially here in St. Petersburg

Beautiful boat and great rehab job! First thing I thought when I saw the tell tale line wasn’t peeing was it was due to either mud daubers or the impeller. I own a 91 Boston Whaler GLS 15 with its original 91 Johnson 2-stroke 60 hp outboard and I have to keep the tell tale plugged at the end when I’m not using it or the daubers will nest in it in no time.
