Facinating story, Blind Blake should be cherished by the American people, so sad that we have to be searching for grave sites decades after these great blues artists have gone, good work, and thanks for posting.

I'm in the UK. I love this mans music. I play guitar and love trying to learn his amazing songs. He's one of my all time heros. Well done for finding the final resting place of this musical genius. He may not be honoured in his own country but he is by blues fans the world over. If you're passing put something on his grave on my behalf.

Wonderful, sad, moving story. Blind Blake was a simply astounding, master musician, who has never been equalled in his field. He should be celebrated and respected in his own country.

He deserves a posthumous medal of honour, surely...America, he is the best guitarist you've produced so far, if you doubt it, try playing his tunes with the zip and pizazz that he played them, his fingers jiving over the strings... thanks for recording some great songs and to youse who found his grave thanks so much.

Thanks for sharing some important history. Blind Blake was the master fingerstyle guitar player of his time and his music has influenced thousands of players. If only he could know that. We all owe him a debt of gratitude.

Gary Davis said he heard that Blake had been killed by a street car in about 1930, also that Blake was the best that ever done it. Thanks for this! Crumb should add you two to his Hero’s of the Blues! Thanks again, been stunned by Blake for over 50 years

Has anyone else noticed that the photos of old bluesmen are generally signed in the same handwriting. My guess is that someone was using these in a publication or advert and wanted to create the impression that they were given to them personally...

Do you know the location of Robert Johnson's gravesite ? There are many different rumored places, but I have never heard of any proof. Can you please take a look ? Thanks.🙏
@teresajohnson142

I've been to 2 Robert Johnson graves. One is at a church on the edge of a cotton field with an elaborate 4 sided tombstone; the other is in an unmarked grave at a different church. The unmarked grave is most likely the real one; validated by the wife of the pastor at the time who also was a local mortician. The story goes Johnson had been poisoned by the husband of a girlfriend and he died and his body was taken to the pastor. As he prepped the body she walked in and asked if that was "That blues man" to which her husband said yes.

@@c.blakerockhart1128 both were around Clarksdale Mississippi out of the town. My traveling companion bought a book that told where everyone that was anyone in the delta blues circuit was buried as well as places of note in the area. We spent 2 weeks paying respects to the likes of Memphis Minnie, Charlie Patton, Rice Miller (Sonny Boy Williamson 1), Albert King, Frank Frost, Sonny Boy Williamson 2 etc. Also checked out the legendary Airport Grocery and loads of awesome places. I highly recommend every blues lover take a similar trip. And if you decide to go down there try to book a shack at Hopson plantation A.K.A the Shack Up Inn.

@@teresajohnson142 That's some tour you did there. I may have to Actually do that with my wife. She isn't exactly a "Blues Fan", but she Did take me to see BB KING at his club for our anniversary several years ago. We used to take a cruise every year but then that crap happened. We would sometimes leave from New Orleans. So if we do that again, we may just make a detour while in Mississippi. We live in Alabama so technically it IS on the way.😏 Thank you for the reply. Have A BLESSED DAY CUZ. 😎🇺🇸
