Pro tip: If you need to beak up hard packed material and move larger amounts per pass use the scarifier teeth. Flip them over and set your depth. Go longer for more aggressive engagement while tilting it more forward. This is where a hydraulic top link shines, for box blade and land plane jobs. By using the rippers you would have had to make far less passes than you did and when you get close to your desired grade, raise them back up, same goes for the land plane.

The power/weight/traction difference is really apparent when you're driving into the pile of stone. Doesn't skip a beat, looks like you're going into a pile of mulch

nice video, always enjoy watching how other people handle similar tasks. I have a 1/2 mile gravel road with a pretty big hill i have to maintain. I ended up getting a landscape rake in addition to my landplane, the 2 together put down a great surface. Keep up the good work!!!

Nice job Adam. That new tractor seems to have plenty of power for your needs. You are lucky that our weather lately has been conducive to you being able to get things like that done. Hopefully it will get cold and not a muddy mess. Merry Christmas. Stay safe, healthy and warm. Bill H from Cranberry Township

Hi Adam, I thought this was a great video. You got some really cool video shots. LS should use them to showcase their tractors!

Adam, it is expensive, but turf blocks fill with gravel keeps the ground level and drains and is a long lasting solution for critical areas. Maybe just a couple of feet outside the garage. Oh, and make sure to lay down a geotextil underneath to prevent silt clogging it all. Now, about the video, it’s hypnotizing, there should be some kind of viewer protection rules for it😂

Doug as the adventurous cameraman is awesome! Loved all the tight action shots. You're gonna get a whole new crowd of long watch-time, watch till the end viewers in boys ages 2-102...Parents are gonna start putting their kid down in front of the computer or iPad and having your videos babysit. You're a shrewd businessman, Adam, and the father of a young son, so I think you know you might have struck gold on this one. Need to get this to go viral by sending to all the Moms in your and your wife's contact lists. Good Luck!

We just got the Case version of this tractor (made by LS just red and branded case) and have been very impressed, definitely works above its weight class. All that said you are correct everyone does walk arounds but this is the first true working video I have seen.
@andrewgee2416 ай бұрын
I was under the impression that Case IH tractors like the Farmall line are made in CNH factories in numerous countries. Not made by LS like the New Holland compacts.
@samraybon52256 ай бұрын
That is what I assumed as well but since 2022 CNH has apparently standardized the subcompact line between case and new holland. Case offers a 40c 45c and 55c that are the same as this LS on the video just coupled to a case loader. I wish I could send pictures in comments of the LS engine info take on the bright red tractor lol.

Another very timely video. I've got a box blade and have been using it to work on my 1200' new gravel driveway. We've only got #2 stone down now (the base material), and I had another triaxle load of #2s brought in last week and spread it in the low spots with the box blade. I had the driver spread the stone as best as he could where the muddy spots were and then went over it with the box blade and back dragging with the bucket. I've got a TYM T574HC (pretty much the same tractor as yours) and like you mentioned it handles the box blade just fine. I've been thinking of getting a land plane to finish up the driveway because I keep seeing how it's used on gravel and everyone keeps saying how great they are. Well, you've convinced me, I'll have to go buy one and stop struggling with the box blade and bucket. Also, thanks for the shots of you in the cab working the bucket controls. I've been trying to figure out how people drop the stone so evenly from their buckets and watching you operate your tractor and dropping stone was exactly what I needed. Again, having a land plane to smooth out all those high spots left by the bucket will seal the deal. Your driveway looks awesome!! A Merry Christmas to you and your family.

I re-grade driveways a lot for my job. I do the majority of the driveways with a 9,000 lb skid steer with bucket only and I must say, you did a fantastic job with that tractor. Just remember, a puddle is the death of a gravel drive/road. Keeping it crowned and the water running into the lawn is the key. Great job getting rid of the ditch between the garage and shop.

Merry Christmas! Nicely done. Machine weight makes a huge difference with the work you can do, perhaps even more than horsepower. My tractor is the same size and base weight as your Kioti, and only 25ish HP. I run out of traction before I’m out of power with rear wheel weights and loaded rear R1 tires (it’s gear drive though, big difference there for pulling power over a hydro…). LS can send me one of those with R1 tires any time and I’ll demo it plenty 😆.

Hi Adam. A few weeks ago, I had a similar project. I expanded the driveway, spreading 120 yards of fill. Using my JD 2025R, I stripped off the topsoil with the tiller and bucket, then laid down geotextile, which I covered with a layer of 2 inch stone and crushed concrete, followed by 3/4 inch crushed stone, topped by 3/4 inch gravel and fines. I spread and levelled this with the bucket and box blade. I have never done this type of work before. I was happy that the job looked quite good when I finished. I did not use the box blade as a plow, in reverse. Next year, when I continue the project, I will try that trick. Thank you for giving me that idea.
@HometownAcres6 ай бұрын
Yes I like use the box blade in reverse like a bull dozer on occasion. The length of you top link will determine how much it will cut vs vs just smoothing
@cdub69356 ай бұрын
Not sure how many remotes the LS has/can have but adding a hydraulic top link is a game changer - especially with a box blade.

I went into town the other day to withdraw some cash from my bank, and as I sat in line at the drive through window, guess what I saw? A pickup truck with a trailer and a LS Tractor on it drove past the bank! Loris, South Carolina. What is weird is somebody went out of their way to buy it, as there is a large John Deere Dealer just north of town.
@HometownAcres6 ай бұрын
My neighbor just bought a John Deere 3046r. It is smaller than my LS, 11 less horsepower, 1,000 lb less lift capacity and yet it cost $30,000 more than this MT357. I would do a video on it but I don’t think he would appreciate me bashing his new tractor
