How could I say no to a last minute invite to experience Mexican gravel for the first time?!
Join me on a solo spontaneous adventure over to San Luis Potosí in central Mexico for 200km of Mexican gravel at altitude! (And for touristing and sampling the best Mexican cuisine San Luis has to offer around race day!).
Thank you to Gravel México for inviting me and being incredible hosts. I had the most incredible week and absolutely fell in love with Mexico (as I am sure the video shows!). As for what happens in the race...you'll have to watch to see!

Great video Maddy. Always worth keeping going as you never know what adverse situations other riders will end up in. It ain’t over till it’s over. Also, another shining example of your refreshing attitude to reframing and still getting the most from the experience. You’re a fantastic athlete for younger riders to look up to. You really appeared to capture the feel and vibrancy of the culture too. Really enjoyed watching☺️

@petesjk
@petesjk Жыл бұрын
@@maddynutt A quick search says that mescal is made with agave, and tequila is made specifically with blue agave. Historically, tequila was a distinctive mescal from the region around the city of Tequila. Yes, it’s very considerate to have a recovery shot of mescal ready for riders at the finish!

Your Spanish is not incorrect when you say "lima". What you pointed at is the fruit of the "limero" tree, which is green and smaller than its larger and yellow counterpart, the "limón", which is the fruit of the "limonero" tree. If they correct you, it's only because the names are mixed and some times reversed depending on where you are and what the most common variety is locally. The names "limón verde" and "limón amarillo" are used too, and the names of the trees may also change from region to region.
@maddynutt
@maddynutt Жыл бұрын
Ahaha we had a bit of debate. Apparently the limón verde is shortened to limón a lot, and because they barely touch lemons, limón just automatically goes to lime! I didn't realise there were so many differences in vocab. Had quite a few moments where I said something people didn't recognise or I didn't recognise a word!
