Russia and China are only regional powers and Russia doesn't even qualify for that anymore. Funny how some don't have a clue and yet speak up only to make themselves look uneducated. Besides, there is no one threatening any freedom of navigation in the Gulf of Mexico. Anybody can use the international waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Again, neither Russia or China could show any kind of strength away from their own shores. I know the US could care less if they did. Sure we would be watching them of course but not objecting to it. This can not be said for the south China sea. It is threatened there so somebody needs to keep it free. I suppose you think that the US shouldn't be helping out the international community by making sure that they can freely use the same shipping lanes they have been using for ever. If the US wasn't doing that, then China would be taking over the whole area and without a doubt, be charging everybody to use it. I suppose that would make you happy. The only language the US understands is freedom for everybody. The only language Russia and China understand is to have everyone under their control.
