Uhm? If your visum expired in India you get sent to jail. There is a max 5 year jail sentence, a fine, and a banishment that you can not return to India again.

Rwanda is unlike most of these other countries, its actually far less corrupt, because nowhere is 100% free from corruption as Boris himself by his actions have shown.

Australia has similar measure: Since 2012, Nauru and Manus Island in Papua New Guinea are used for offshore processing of illegal immigrants. I guess the main message is, if people are coming illegally for better living conditions, they should look elsewhere.

We are a small country and cannot keep letting illegal immigrants into our country. We have a housing crisis millions of young people unable to move from their parents homes because of very high rents and lack of housing. The illegal immigrants mostly young men are living in France and are not at risk.

It would be better for sure though doesn't address the root problem of why people would take such dangerous risks in the first place. This approach is worst than that though as it seems we have learnt nothing about pandering to authoratian regimes. What does Rwanda government get from it. International recognition and money which will definitely not get spent on the refugees whatsoever and the overall inflation of another tinpot dictator ego. What could possibly go wrong

As an Indian living in the UK. I have to say WION has done more banana journalism than fact research here! The UK has a mass illegal immigration isdue and mainly concerning the arrival of Muslim young to middle aged men. Some areas of the UK are no longer heamogounous but have become culturally and religiously detached from the Laws and democracy of the country due to mass illegle immigration. Just this week there has been over 1000 illegal immigrats that arrived. Many of these immigrants do go missing. The UK has tried other methods to stop illegle immigrants but have all failed so now a much tougher approach is now required, and to break up people smuggling networks. You also have to understand illegal immigration has very much caused the rise black market workers, unprotected cheap labour, abuse, slaves, crime, fanatics that have causes, sex slavery, rise in homelessness, vandalism...etc. If it is not controlled, then the issue just grows and grows until a point of no return - just as the illegle immigration from Bangladesh to India. The only ones to benefit this are people smugglers and liberals who want mass immigration for votes.

As I recall, Rwanda was originally a German, then Belgian colony that has been an independent republic since 1961. It has never had any historic ties to the UK. Actually, this is not a world's first. Australia did a very similar thing and it stopped illegal immigration in a matter of weeks. Rwanda might seem like an odd choice but the objective is to provide a deterrent!

Israel was stolen from Palestine by the jews with the help of Britain (Belfast agreement) yet there isn't a mainstream narrative that Israel should pay up ? It also has to be said that black slave traders sold Africans to the west and if Africa wasn't so primitive and backwards that would never have been possible. 500 years is a bit of a stretch, the Dutch were the global order before the Brits and also colonized the world...
