Hello Jack. Somehow I didn’t respond to this one. There are a few options. I would suggest Survival Plants of Colorado volume 1 and 2 Although some of the plants mentioned do not occur in NM, many of them should be available in your area. The formatting and information the author has is excellent. There are a couple other great options but for some reason the titles are escaping me right now. I will check through my library and provide another comment with the titles included.

@@rockymountainedibles3593 thanks so much! I’ll look for those books. The book I found most useful for me so far is called Weeds of the West. It’s mostly Color photographs so really helps with identification. As a veterinarian, I have focused mostly on identifying poisonous plants that affect livestock. I would like to know more about edibles.
