May be too lean and getting hot. Try turning the screw out a half turn at a time. And try again.

Hey Kevin, I wonder what that gas powered buggy would do with spacers to give it wider wheelbase and put taller tires on it, maybe X-max tires ? Now your talking! I use my 1/5 scale 30cc buggy all the time! Haven’t got anyone else that is interested in it around here tho which sucks (Devon) but the beaches I go to are awesome! That looks like a pretty cool place you use them!

That thing sounds, runs like a beast, Kev! I hear tell genuine HPI parts fit that thing, too. Look into getting the two speed transmission upgrade and front hydraulic brakes for it, make it do 60MPH and make it stop like a 4WD.

Finally Kevin has started to realise the fun of gas! Though how did he mix the gas and how rich is it running? Well looking att the exhaust bursting in idle is quite wierd for a gas vehicle.

When I see this, I miss my old Baja 5b. Now a days there isn't a real reason to go gas anymore. I like the sound and the gas motor running, but that's where it ends! Happy New Year, Everyone!

Hey Kevin I love your videos I was just going to recommend the losi lst2 xxl. I personally own one but I’m in the middle of converting it to brushless I’ve got a system in it and it’s running just not fast enough I’m running 6s in it but the gear ratio I had to change, but I thought that a conversion would be a great video for your channel. P.s. have an awesome new year and keep up the awesome “minty 👌🏼 content”

Did you break it in or nah, just remember to tune and you will almost ok. Unless the engine seals give way because of no break in

I'm surprised you wasn't all over the Baja years ago. Been around a long time an quite cheap. I paid under $500au 7 years ago for mine. The Losi 5ive T truck is 4wd and 45cc 2 stroke now That is a beast!

They usually need little maintenance compared to nitros. Rebuilding depends on how you drive it.

Most of my electric RC car interest came to an end in 1999. We were out at a park, running our trucks, and my buddy pulls up with his new purchase. He'd just picked up a brand new release... Something called a T-Maxx. I knew about Traxxas because I had built a Stampede kit a few years earlier (yes, a kit) (and it's two wheel drive) (and I still have it, LOL). The T-Maxx blew us all away, and our outing that day pretty much just turned into the T-Maxx show. Been hooked ever since. I've been looking into going 1/5th scale for several years now... Your videos make me wonder why I've waited.

I have had the HPI 5b and the generic Ravon. Cheaper version is good but has some weaker parts. I busted a rim the day on mine and replaced all 4 with hpi wheels. Swapped out the lower A arms for RPM brand. Also upgrade steering servo, I stripped mine. Spare steering linkage and dog bones a plus.

Its so incredibly nice to be able to actually hear an RC car for once! Like electrics can be fast no doubt ... but no matter how fast they are ... when they are silent, they just seem so ... for kids! That sound, and smell, and smoke ... makes it so much more of a mans sport! The electrics make me feel like i am operating a sewing machine sewing a sweater for a grand child HaHa!
