So true along with the pizza don’t leave loaves of bread or a beef roast. I had one sneaky Dane who pulled down loaves of bread from the counter when I wasn’t around. Another one who I caught chomping on a beef roast. I finally put up a gate at kitchen entrance. It wasn’t connected to the wall. It would occasionally fall when a Dane thought they could override the gate. It fell enough times and was loud that they just stayed away from the doorway, the kitchen and the gate. I had 4 Danes at the time. The gate was very helpful in training them to stay out of the kitchen.

@@dalebaker7705 In fairness I only say this because it is a long and very painful process to do it right and unfair to the dog. Looks are only secondary. It's not like docking the tail which is quick and then it's over.
