My grand had Alzheimer’s, she forgot all our names and all. But when my dog died, she knew something was up, she asked where was the little dog, she kept asking the aid while were were tending to him. So she finally told her gently well he died. She started to cry so much. She missed him even though she forgot, they had a special bond. -I know some may think it was cruel to tell her, but there was a reason for telling her. We weren’t going to tell her, but she knew somehow already a family member was missing right away and she kept asking, that’s why the aid felt it was ok to tell her. One of the saddest days of our lives. 😪 Sigh

My pitbull changed my grandma's way of thinking about pitbulls and big dogs in general!! They were very close! We even drove from upstate new York to Houston Texas with all of us in a truck pulling a camper Haha never stayed in a hotel. My grandma passed away at the end of July and my pitbull bandit passed away a week later!! I miss them both so much!! But I will have another rescue pit soon!!!!

I always took my dog to visit my mom. At 94 years old, the moment we entered her place, she got up and made him a sandwich. She loved to feed him and he loved to visit her. I loved the bond they shared.

When my dad was dying, one of the last times he spoke was to ask how my Great Dane, Grace, was doing. Didn’t inquire about his grown kids or any grandkids-only my dog! There’s something very special about Great Danes. They add to your life experience in a most beautiful way.

Nana is doing good for her age, my grandfather is 88 and we recently had to put him in a assisted living facility because of his dementia. We visit him 1-3 times a week which he loves I hope Nana stays this healthy and sharp for years to come.

I think more people need to get their dogs serviced and go to senior homes and let them hang out once a week. Dogs make everyone smile and feel better when they might be feeling down. I know when I’m feeling sad or even angry I go to my dog and just cuddle and lay on him and he just lays there and let’s me pet him till I calm down or feel better. And he’s a 3 year old Siberian husky so staying still is very rare for him. This makes my heart full and wish I could do this for seniors.

He probably weighs more than Great Nana. You’re very blessed to have them both in your life.
