Howard Sooley. You make the most beautiful inspiring films. So moving. They touch an innermost place.

I visited Prospect cottage in about 2002. With my french girlfriend of the time who knew nothing about Derek Jarman apart from my dribbling and making her watch Caravaggio over and over for a paper for my degree. Anyway we, well just wandered around at a good distance as there were new tenants but you could feel Derek or at least start to understand in my own small way, his combat. I started hearing of him back in the days of thatcher's anti gay policies. So followed him when I could in the day's before internet etc... ! To finish after visiting with the ex I read his diaries, these confirmed to me that his life was a constant work of art and despite his wonderful films this garden is as much witness and legacy of/to the beauty of the man. always an inspiration.

Thank you for this film. It was lovely to see more of Derek's artwork, and the viewer gets to see a different take on things. The mood of this film is absolutely Derek: pensive, creative and honest. That's a thumbs up from us!

Rather haunting, with whisp and whimsy of Derek and you and all else echoing with(in) and out(of) that place - so beautiful yet stark; warm and still cold. I love so much Derek's detailed description's of the seeds and cuttings and which went there and the other here. His care to record the teas and car rides, suppers and bunches of flowers, and always the returns to Dungeness. Beautiful - that's all. that's everything. thank-you.

Atmospheric film of a unique place. I've visited this area of Dungeness twice and there is nowhere else quite like it.

A place to keep in your memory for the beauty created by the simplicity of what is there or isn't... Such an enjoyable film...from it's beginning to the end..repeated several times..🌴

04:20 sounds like the end of COIL's 'the dreamer is still asleep' from 'musick to play in the dark vol.1'! Of course COIL worked with Derek Jarman and knew him very well..........

Precioso. Si el jardín se extiende hacia el infinito, entonces el jardín afuera de la cabaña cubre el universo entero. Bellisimo.

Directional still life in this place of unusual offerings. understated by what it has to offer...surrendering to the space it occupies.

Wow! So much beauty can be found and harnessed and indeed created out of such desolate, even ugly things. Who would have thought to embrace the power station as borrowed landscape? So many gardeners would have called that an eyesore and tried to hide it with planting or ornamentation or something... and can anyone tell me, were those rusted old bed coils at 4:55? Or what were those?

i want the music softer than the narrator's voice. i have a hard time hearing the voice. the fight between the two creates a dissonance inside of me that spoils the mood of the images and message.

Sadly, the music overwhelms the narrator and distracts from the garden. Pity...
