I was most surprised by the uncooked bacon… never in my life seen it done like that! Missed out on all the love that bacon grease could’ve seasoned it with 🥹

Idk if you know this but a lot of people actually have salt deficiencies so eating a lot of salt is necessary. However she really didn’t put that much in there. That looked like two teaspoons. You need a good bit when cooking beans as they have no flavor.😊

@@ajbarrett1997not only that but interestingly enough some Asian countries that have what seems to be excessive sodium intake actually have less cardiovascular issues but more colon cancer. It seems that salt itself isn't necessarily the issue but how it fits into your diet

Also, a lot of cooks don’t salt the beans 🫘 until after they’ve cooked. So the bean doesn’t split while cooking.
