WOW.! It seems like just yesterday, when I listened to The Platters, half way around the world, 18 yrs old high school kid in Vietnam; and now I am 81, in Sacramento, CA. The same vocal singer group, but with much more emotional feeling.! Tony Williams had one of the greatest voices that the music world has ever heard. The Platters dominated the Billboards top 100 with great songs like: The Great Pretender, Twilight Time, Smoke Gets In Your Eyes, My Prayer, The Magic Touch, I Love You 1000 Times. They had a lot of crossover white fans in their heyday. RIP to all of the former members of the groups including Sonny Turner who passed away around January 22, 2022.
