Elevated storms lit up on the back side of a cold front in northern Illinois during the evening on May 20. The storms were of relatively low quality (in terms of organization) but even weak storms can throw out a good lightning strike. The highlights were a strike to a radio tower, and a positive crawler flash (along with a weak +CG stroke to the right?) that lit up half the sky with a great thunder signature. Even though my little Yi has a very wide angle, unfortunately it doesn't make your screen bigger to reveal the scale of a good crawler flash. I also included a smaller crawler flash at the end; it had well-visible leader propagation and nice thunder signature due to the recoil leaders.

Thanks to Tom A. Warner and other lightning physicists and researchers who have helped me understand lightning processes explained in my videos. Tom has created a great resource for individuals interested in learning how lightning works.
