Saw this guy in Fort Worth from the front row, back in 1971. A great concert with many many hits!

The first-ever song I heard from Neal Diamond, and over 50 years later, I still love it! (Back then, a former GI had a weekly radio show on my regional station, and he (Mal Sondock) brought many new acts and artists over, introducing them to a German audience. I became a Neil Diamond fan when nobody here had ever heard of him, and still am. One of the best American singer/songwriters!

Neil, was called "the Jewish Elvis". He was a songwriter, like Carol King, who then went out to record and perform their own songs, and show their talent. He is older, and having health issues, now, yet an amazing singer, writer -I saw him 'Live' once, and he commanded the stage!

One of the best songwriters ever. Quite the performer as well. He's not only had many #1 hit songs himself, but he has written many for other artists in both the Pop/Rock genre, but Country Western as well. He's just a real talented dude.

My mom was a big Neil Diamond fan when I was growing up and "Cracklin' Rosie" was my favorite of his songs. When you're ready for another taste of his music, check out "Solitary Man", "Cherry, Cherry", "Kentucky Woman", and "Sweet Caroline". Also check out The Monkees "I'm a Believer" and Tony Tribe "Red Red Wine" for two covers of songs he wrote. PS. Also check out Deep Purple's cover of "Kentucky Woman".

It’s a cheezy song,, even for the ‘70s.. yet some how it seemed to work. It’s the kind of song that you’d never admit to your friends that you like it! 😂

Cracklin’ Rosie is a cheap sparkling Canadian wine. If you listen carefully to the lyrics it starts to make sense. “Cracklin Rose you’re a store bought woman…but you make me sing like a guitar humming…” en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cracklin%27_Rosie

I think there was something about Canadian villages where there weren’t many women, and the dudes that couldn’t hook up ended up getting drunk on cheap Cracklin’ Rosie wine instead.

One of my favorite singer songwriters spanning many decades. I had so many of his records. He had tons of hit songs. "I Am, I said", "Sweet Caroline", "Cherry, Cherry", "Kentucky Woman", "Red Red Wine", "Solitary Man", "Holly Holy", "Song Sung Blue", "Longfellow Serenade", "Desirée", "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" etc. He wrote the song "I'm A Believer" which became a big hit for the Monkees in 1966. I was privileged to see him in concert twice. He was a great showman & his live performances were memorable.
