8 yo might be pushing it. We had a nine year old in our group, but he was extremely mature for his age. There is a lot of walking. Nerdy kids will like the history. This trip did include A trip to Disneyland Hong Kong and Disneyland Shanghai. I know 8-year-olds love that!
