Saw them open up for Priest in 1984, never heard them before that night, but they left an impression that prompted me to get the album. This is the only record they ever did I like.

Once Bitten is the closest album to the self titled. Mark Kendall has tried to turn the band into AC/DC clones ever since, IMO. I like some of Twice Shy, and not much after that. Tried re-listening to Hooked again a few nights ago, and only made it about 3 songs in. GreatC/DC.....@@DeathsquadDemongods

this is when great white was a killer metal band.. before they turned into an all blues based bar band.... just like motley crue in the later years.. all blues based rehashed shit!! this album is what made great white a killer band in the day

I bought this cassette when it first came out and no one knew who Great White was. This album is unusually dark.....VERY dark and cool!

Music music music they can make music for a million years and they won't even come close to the 80's at this day and age we have no real music can anyone play instruments anymore in the 70's and 80's music was the very best they were extremely talented and had voices that could make your ears shatter and make a guitar talk that was talent these days they call talking singing and can't hear no instruments how sad. how sad enough said and no disrespect to anyone that doesn't agree but they just don't make music like they use to

Many many thanks for posting this. I heard this ONCE in my Corvette when I was cruising Westwood/West LA over 30 years ago. No back announcing by Jim Ladd that night. The only thing I could recall was "Street Killer". I still remember that riff and lyric. Many failed attempts to find this as I didn't even know the band or the song title. Yea, you're right; this was when GW was a metal band!

All this before the days of total computer mapping of every note! This song reminds me of a scripture in Isaiah 54:16,17. "See it is I who created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame & forges a weapon fit for it's work, and it is I who created the destroyer to work havoc. But no weapon fassioned against you will prosper." God reigns over both light & darkness & brings forth light at His command! He even tells the destroyer where to go & what to do. And even the unclean spirits obey Him.

Dug this shit when it came out. Loved it. After they kinda went commercial. All over KNAC. anyone remember the best So Cal station. If you do in this day and age you could get anything you want. Therefore try KZRR 94 ROCK Albuquerque NM the best station in the country.

Like someone said, I'd been looking 4 this album everywhere and it's not 2b found. Just loved their sound on this album more thn anything tht came after although they've made a lot of excellent stuff since this album, fittingly black, just had such a darker heavier vide to it.
