Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach Vlog 13th May 2017

Come with us as we have a look around this great seaside park with one of the best and oldest wooden coasters in the UK known as "Roller Coaster" that was built in 1932
Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to go on many rides as the park was only open from 12am-5pm but still managed to film 3 povs including one of the classic ghost train
We will be making a return visit later in the year to vlog the whole day and also try and get to Joyland that was also unfortunately closed but we did check out the new Ferris Wheel called "The View"
Vlog filmed in HD 1080p 60fps using a GoPro Hero Session

Yes, there's a ghost train in Hastings. There used to be another one along the coast in Dymchurch - you'd have to check to see whether it's still there.

You came about a month too early. June, July, August are the busiest times. The Rollercoaster was my first ever coaster, iconic and great fun!

loving the blogs have visited great Yarmouth pleasure beach every year of my life for 31 years and have only been on the rollercoaster one time and I hated it .

Another great vlog Andy! Haven't been to Great Yarmouth since I was a kid (about 20 years ago!) I remember riding the roller coaster with my mum,, it was probably the first "big" roller coaster I ever went on.

I can’t believe I’ve only just found your channel . I’m loving your down to earth no nonsense reviews. I’m starting at the old ones and places I’ve been to , I’m a Londoner so know Southend , Walton and yarmouth for holidays so it’s good to see you there . I’ve just seen you’ve been to all the USA ones and I’ve never been , so I’m looking forward to checking them out . It’s a change to see a decent vlogger with no rubbish talk , telling it how it is . Such a shame to see 2 of my local playgrounds deserted. The Pleasure Beach in the height of the season stays open until 10. I can remember a time when the park would shut at 11 ish in the 80's and we would then go clubbing in Tiffany's. Keep up the good work, I enjoy your blogs.

Loved the Pleasure Beach as a teenager in the early 80's. The roller coaster still had the alpine paintwork, which was better than the boring blue it has now. The giant slide was great fun but one of my real favourites was the big helter-skelter that dumped you into a big wooden bowl at the bottom, so you went spinning round that till you lost momentum. I was so thrilled to see 'our' pleasure beach on the telly when Madness filmed part of the video for 'House of Fun' there.

also the ghost train is featured in an episode of keeping up appearances as it the whole pleasure beach. worth a look on you tube as its in the 90s and you can see how busy it used to be! that's the end of my great yarmouth pleasure beach facts! lol

Fidget Spinners are specifically for people with anxiety, autism, ADHD etc but the "craze" spoils it for those people because they're being banned in schools. I'm 20 and I suffer from Anxiety but don't want to use a Fidget Spinner (or Fidget Cube) because of the craze and stigma around them. Nice vlog! I live near Great Yarmouth and tbh it's like a ghost town and I'm not surprised everything was closed by 5pm. But you also have to remember that the children are still in school term time so that's probably why it wasn't so busy there.

Nope, Fidget Spinners are a toy, You're getting them mixed up with the Fidget Cube, the reason the cube isn't as popular with kids is because you can't play with it, because it's not a toy, it's purely for anxiety, autism and so on, that's what it's was designed for, The spinner you play with, do tricks with it's does the opposite to what the cube does.

OMG I used to go there in the 80s at southdeans caravan park . where are all the rides gone eg the water shoot, fun house , gravity wheel , dodgems, carosell , flying twisters , and that large statue near the rollercoaster was he old woman in a shoe and a witch used to circle it , there was couple rows of food bars , times change I know but ....

the 1940's ghost train at Dingles heritige fun fair and museum , just over the boarder from me in devon, i love dingles they have the moonrocket now , only one left in the uk

I'd love to ride The Roller Coaster, those classics are a favorite of mine as well. Before Geauga Lake closed near me the Big Dipper was alive and well.

another great vlog Andy omg though great Yarmouth in may in season park open 5 hours and yes it wasn't the bank hols but everything else was closed as well it's a seaside town it's a weekend . so you will have to visit again can I ask you try the log flume and the golf on the front it's great and joyland how many coster credits you on now

That wooden coaster is now a listed structure.. maybe the only ride that's been awarded a listed building. The PB would lose more money if they stayed open, there wasn't enough people of make a profit to cover running costs for another few hours. During Peek season it'll be open for much longer. They have to do whatever they can to keep the place running, just staying open and loosing money isn't the way to do it. If it was packed they wouldn't have closed.

MephProduction there's actually loads of rides around the UK that have been given a listed grade !! There's a few rides at Blackpool that are grade 2 listed

Liked the video and the few others of yours i've watched, only slight critism i have particularly from this one is the stroby effect on the like ferris wheel lights and when you were on the pier. I dont really know anything about gopros but would imagine the 60fps being the cause of it, could dropping the fps a little be a possibility?

Terry Sansom yeah I think the strobe effect is because of the frame rate, but if I dropped it the picture quality would not be too good

Pity you didn't get the chance to do joyland, it's lost loads of great little kids rides call packed in, i think there's a cool little dark side in there too. But i remember when that Spooky Coaster was once a walk around space ship.. that attraction was weird and freaky. :D Wish i could find some footage of it.

What is going on with park enthuseasts these days? It seems as though if it isnt BPB or a Merlin park then there is no point in other parks opening up as everywere else is dead.

tgames 102 when you go on a rollercoaster for the first time mate you add it to your coaster credits. So say you have been on 400 rollercoasters you have 400 coaster credits. Hope this helps

tgames 102 they are counts of how many coasters you go on. a new coaster is 1 credit. hope that helps? :)

You moan about things for the pleasure beach and pleasure wood hills yet you go in May which isn't peak time. You need to go July, August time which is the summer season and everything is open later. They won't open early till late as they can't make money if there are no people there until the summer season.
