After all these years, I get to actually hear some of the Radio Mysteries I was told about by my parents. I remembered some about Johnny Dollar, hearing them on the car radio back in the mid 50s. They certainly reflect the culture and entertainment values of their time! Still, there's a certain magic about hearing a story told, rather than shown, not unlike someone reading a bedtime story. Thank you very much.

Mr. Chameleon is a police officer, not a private detective, yet unlike the other police officers in this show he is never addressed according to his rank, e.g. sergeant, detective, lieutenant, only as "Mr. Chameleon." Why? Also, when referring to a where a crime has taken place, he invariably calls it "the murder room" as opposed to using the more typical, "crime scene" or "murder scene." That always irritates me.
