She is an Angel sent from the good Lord above. I must have listened to her version of Hallelujah at least 50 times. Whenever I have a bad day or feeling down or think about my Father that passed away 4 yrs. ago. I listen to Lucy and makes me feel so good. Thank You Lucy!!!!!

OMG, what a performance, Lucy's vocal adaptation to the song is phenomenal. She seems to become the character in the song and adapts feeling, phrasing, articulation, dynamics, metering, and rhythm into the performance and plus the fact that she is very attractive adds to the performance....

She is 19 now with a more mature voice. She just keeps getting better. No current singer has such a beautiful voice, control, phrasing, and vibrato. Once all the world knows her, they will wonder how they missed so many years of her greatness.

Go listen to my favorite singer Emily Linge. Not only does she have all of those qualities in her voice, but she also accompanies herself on the piano or guitar, and she has been doing it since she was 11. You can pick any song on her channel that you want. I love one she did when she was 12 called 'He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother'. But you can choose what you wish. She does many big production numbers like this one. 😊 Mike and Ginger have reviewed several of her songs.

@@bradtaggart5509 Emily Linge is indeed an excellent and gifted singer. The great thing about human voice is how unique it is. She sounds nothing like Lucy Thomas who sounds nothing like Angelina Jordan, and so on. Fortunately, music is not a sporting event. There doesn’t have to be a winner. We each have our favorites and we can even really like lots of artists!

@@randysimon7363 I agree 100% Randy. I was only replying to him because of his comment, "No current singer....". I was merely pointing out that indeed there are currently singers who have those qualities, including her own sister. IMHO, her sister has a nicer voice, but as you said, it's not a competition. I follow a couple dozen who are amazing. Have you listened to Beatrice Floria from Romania? She sings not only current pop music, but classical music as in Mozart and Beethoven. Amazing talent.

Thank you for your reactions once again Ginger & Mike. Lucy performed this song without all the vocal gymnastics and without screaming those high notes that many cover artists take. Her control is impeccable. Many people might prefer Whitney's original, but for me this version is better, cleaner, and pristine. Indeed, at 19 (today) she is absolutely angelic.

Ditto... Whitney was a great singer, but like Celine, both add too many exhausting runs which distracts from the song. Lucy could do that even better than they did, but Lucy's renditions are superior in my professional opinion.

I love the fact that she can sing so low n still have power for that low note n then just climb, higher n higher n then explode with such a crystal clear voice , smooth all the way . Remember when she was a gawky adolescent on the Voice Kids - UK ? Lucy has grown into a beautiful soul with amazing talent. *_Lucy doesn't copy music... she IMPROVES it..._*

"The Greatest Love of All" is a song written by Michael Masser, who composed the music, and Linda Creed, who wrote the lyrics. It was originally recorded in 1977 by George Benson, who made the song a substantial hit, peaking at number two on the US Hot Soul Singles chart that year, the first R&B chart top-ten hit for Arista Records. The song was written and recorded to be the main theme of the 1977 film The Greatest, a biopic of the boxer Muhammad Ali, and is performed during the opening credits.

By the way there are two versions of this ‘out there’ the studio version which is phenomenal then a truly ‘live’ version at an Italian restaurant near Lucy’s home in Wigan, Lancashire. I prefer the live version but the sound quality may not be up to the standards of a professional reaction channel 😬 I’d recommend you give it a ‘listen’ ! Search for “Lucy Thomas Forbes on the lane Wigan” and you should find it along with a couple of other videos well worth a view/listen including a Le Mis song interrupted by a phone call!

Oh I’ve come back to watch Lucy. Ohh she looks n sounds better the more I watch her. Lucy has certainly taken real ownership of this n I can only say the original singer is equal or better! Her red dress, lipstick n long hair are such a defining feature. Then her baby blue eyes seem to open so wide n invite you into her magic world. The biggest thing for me is that Lucy sang this in such a sultry n sassy voice, not many others could do . Good luck Lucy in 2024! 👌🌹🥰⭐️

Yes, to many ears, mine included, Whitney’s singing was a bit too much., a bit too shouty. Too much of ‘I can go this loud and with these acrobatics’. Lucy’s voice is more restrained, allowing for more subtle emotions. But I agree with the “pregnant pause” comment. Still, at 19 she is still learning. She has pretty much mastered the smooth fluid delivery and now (only my personal preference) needs to work in a bit more appropriate breaks that allow key emotions, switches and questions to hit home with greater impact. This is just a very minor quibble about a young lady who has almost reached perfection at an age well before she has any right to.

I don't quite agree with that observation. She has other songs that have pauses. This song was not intended to have a pause and very few singers could handle the complexity of what Lucy demonstrates in her amazing rendition that brings it dynamically back to life. Her last song "The Way We Were" may suit your taste better as Lucy has lot's of pauses there.

For me there were times in that performance, as there have been in other performances from her, when it was just a little too fluid, even though I accept that that fluidity can be technically very impressive. It doesn’t stop me being mightily impressed with her singing and enjoying it.

@@stever7732 I'm OK with that. I like how there was only one camera and a closeup with no editing. I was able to focus on her beautiful face and how Lucy emoted the words with her facial expressions during the entire song. This song requires a talent that most singers simply lack. That is what makes Lucy uniquely special and in a class of her own.

Agree with you. They made Lucy look like a forty year old woman when she sang the Etta James song. She needs some modern and original songs. I think the family is waiting for her to graduate high school coming summer before she will devote full time to her singing career.

@@georgegliszczynski8576 Songs about her own experiences.All her covers were excellently suited to show her possibilities and to make a name for herselves. Now she is old enough to make herself credible with her songs. All these diva covers tell of something that Lucy had never experienced herself and could have had no idea at all (due to age).I want to see the fantastic and believable Lucy Thomas on stage.
