Ariel, although you know more than the average Athenian person, somehow in the Roman Agora you managed to miss the feeling of the "Tower of the Winds". So, you were inpressed by a marble slab, which was just the remaining floor of a room some thousands of years before, but then, when you entered in the Tower of the same age which still stands intact to this day, with roof and walls and an extraodinary infrastracture, you noticed nothing like it is a todays structure in Times Square. 23:33 Greeks "aren't so proud" about Zorba the Greek for two reasons. First, it became a touristy cliché to a degree that is an ultimate annoyance, like "opa" or "siga-siga" as well. All these are not typical of the Greek society but clichés made for and by the tourists, especially American tourists. Second, the great author Nikos Kazantzakis, who wrote the novel, was a tremendous psychographer of the Greek society back then (this novel relates to the years around 1910-1920), and we want to forget the misery of many social aspects of that era.
