Colby Covington (born February 22, 1988) is an American mixed martial artist. He is a former Interim UFC Welterweight Champion. As of December 14, 2019, he is #2 in the UFC welterweight rankings. Covington returned to face Robbie Lawler in the main event of UFC on ESPN 5 on August 3, 2019. He won the fight via a lopsided unanimous decision, setting a record for the most strikes thrown in a UFC bout with 541 strikes.
Covington faced Kamaru Usman for the UFC Welterweight Championship on December 14, 2019 at UFC 245. He lost the fight via fifth round technical knockout. This fight earned him his first post fight bonus in the UFC for Fight of the Night .
Dana White (born July 28, 1969) is an American businessman and the current President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), which is the largest mixed martial arts (MMA) organization in the world. Under White's leadership, the UFC has grown into a globally popular multibillion-dollar enterprise and as of August 2019, White's net worth was assessed at $500 million.

Exactly. Its a shame the majority got underpaid considering the (percentage) of profit the UFC makes. Also uncle fester is an opponent of things like an union. He doesnt care a single bit, he is a coward (doesnt even dare to jump from a rock into the sea in Hawaii lol) but due to his fascination for ppl who do have the courage to enter the octagon he sort of wants to give his ego that courage (well good luck with that).

These fighters make a good living working 3-4 times a year. Foh. If they don’t bring in fans they don’t deserve the big dollars. Everybody who thinks boxing is where the money is try looking up how much the people not main eventing fights make. If the ufc pays peanuts then boxing promoters pay dirt. I love mma but these guys need to be a little less sensitive. I pour concrete everyday the last 20 years and don’t bitch about what I make. I would love to see most the fighters come try doing concrete everyday or have a real full time job. You fight a couple times a year how much should they be getting paid?

If you were to find the business that made their employees rich, with them having some, to little, to no education, you will not find a company anywhere in the world who got more people out of poverty, and in the high tax brackets. That is why these fighters,----fight. In some nations, there is no other way to make money. But in the USA, if you don't like your boss, you should quit,---if you can make the money anywhere else. That is why they fight. That is why those who can win, will do better than you. Nope, voting for bernie will not help you. It will only make your only option, fighting, like in those other nations. Now, can you give some credit to the guy who runs an organization who makes their employees rich? Or do you think like bernie, and think anyone who the UFC hires should have a 1,000,000 min wage?

I don't know how much money a fighter makes if he is not on the fight card, but he probably would not be in the sport if he/she did not think the potential is worth the effort. EarthSurferUSA I agree. When they were allowed to have their own sponsors. They could make a great living. A lot of fighter lost from $30,000 to 2 million in sponsorship money per fight once the ufc did the Reebok deal. The ufc is not disclosing the backend deal they have with Reebok.

@Yonkaboo Exkaboo Name a few famous fighters you think have been wrongfully dropped? If you haven't noticed Dana can be quite tolerable of fighters as long as they are generating interest and money. The Usman fight did no harm to Colby claims of being a world class fighter. His history with Masvidal, the falling out, current talk about each other and both being in the top 5 will sell. Same applys with Woodley and the title fight they should of had to unify. He has played the villian well, alot of people want to see him get smashed by both or now recognise that he can put on an epic fight and want to watch.

I agree ,he should get paid more ,he is doing a massive publicity to ufc he is putting in work , but let's accept it with UFC you get paid when/if you're a champion or if you create controversy.colby is clearly trying the later but doesn't get what he deserves here ,I think it comes down to the fact that Dana does not respect him .I truly think Dana want Colby's scalp.

Because the ufc pays their fighters scraps, anyone who isn't a champ doesn't get paid much. They're paying under 20% of their revenue in salaries compared to other leagues that pay about 50%. The fighters aren't even getting any of the money from the ESPN deal.

@Xavier If the fight wasn't stopped, Colby was still gonna lose. One judge scored it for Colby going into the last round, one for Usman, the last one had them 2-2. The last round was Usman's, clear as day, dropped Colby twice, so let's not pretend it was THAT controversial..

Amazing video man! I just got home at 12:30am after a long shift of repetitive factory work, and seeing a new upload from you put a smile on my face! I’ve liked Colby ever since the veil was lifted back when Chael and Joe had their “falling out”. I’ve gained a tremendous amount of respect for the man after finding out he was to be cut win or lose after fighting Demian Maia; I imagine he must’ve been like “right then, I’ll just go fuck myself!”. After his infamous home alone octagon interview, some people (myself included) were quick to start writing him off as a gimmick, but at least we now know that his general frustrations and anger were real. 🍻

I *really* wish Colby would've beat Usman... it was such a good fight & honestly there were several times he was up. No shame though, they both put it put on the line, it would just be interesting from a control standpoint though. If Colby was the champ that'd give him/fighters in general way more leverage & power to negotiate better contracts for themselves.
