The Vikings, without starting QB Christian Ponder, head into Lambeau Field to face Aaron Rodgers and the Packers behind the arm of backup QB Joe Webb and 2000 yard rusher Adrian Peterson. Peterson was held to 99 yards on 23 carries and Webb looked lost from the first snap as the Packers, behind a 274 yard day from Rodgers, cruise to a 24-10 victory and advance to the Divisional Round of the NFC Playoffs.

I know damn well Kaepernick wasn't gonna run for 274 in January at Lambeau. Such bullshit. That game cost everything. Could have been a superbowl year.

As a vikings fan, to say Adrian Peterson made Christian Ponder look like a competent NFL QB during his MVP season is a massive understatement. I think even Packer fans can agree AP earned his MVP that year

This was, at least to me, the last "2000's era" Playoff game. You had fullbacks blocking, carrying and running routes. You had coverages that just smothered you if you weren't good at play action, tight ends that ran something other than go routes or sitting in zones. It all changed the next week at San Francisco when Kap ran all over us, I'd argue that football just hasn't been that good since then. Sure, there are more big plays, but that's it. Look at the Chiefs in the Super Bowl just a couple years ago at Tampa. All Tampa did was play Cover 2 over the top and limited plays of 20+ yards. KC had no inkling how to just put together a long drive; running the ball and throwing passes under the zones.

Honestly. Bot even on joe webb. Ponder gets hurt. Guy gets less than 12 hours to prep. And look at that line. He never gets time and he is dancing and running. Rodgers meanwhile checks down and down to rb and fb.

Are you saying that the Matthews forced fumble, Shields int, and the kickoff recovery all had nothing come out of it by our offense? After each turnover highlight, the next ones were Vikings offense highlights.

Comparing this game to today’s team, This team had a horrible o line recievers were washed, mediocre running game, terrible defense. Our team so much better this year .

I've always felt that the Vikings only made the playoffs that year by default due to other teams that were expected to be better and playoff-bound not playing up to their potential. New Orleans kind of lost themselves that year with Bountygate catching up to them, which led to Payton's suspension for the entire season. The Giants won the SB the previous year but failed to make the playoffs that year, which tends to be the case for many teams the year after they win the SB. Cam Newton was playing only his 2nd season and still developing, as he led Carolina to a division title till the following year. The 2012 Chicago Bears are considered one of the best teams to not make the playoffs.

Idk if that was the case. GB was playing for a 1st round bye in WK 17. Also Christian Ponder was a last second scratch before this game, he wasn't great but he would've done alot better than Joe here.
