Love hearing their old songs live, would be nice if they redid them to be honest, nothing wrong with the albums, but I think Welcome To Paradise on Kerplunk and then hearing it on Dookie really show's how awesome it would be to redo the old albums

It's been that way for a lonnnnnng time. I remember seeing them do 2000 light years away at Wembley Arena in 2002, me and one other random dude were spazzing out, everyone else was just standing around, waiting for another single I guess...

Harambe Slappy Hours isn't a thing. There's the Slappy E.P., if that's what you mean, but the title "1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours" is a combination of an album and two E.P.'s.

God, what I'd give to have seen them on the 21CB tour! Billie sounded at his _absolute_ best, and they pulled out random ass gems like this one for every show!

sorry to brag but I saw them 3 times on that tour and I can confirm, Billie Joe was at his absolute best then. It was before the pills went off the rails, before he was doing politics on the mic every night. Just a fantastic show, good music, passion to perform, etc.. now its all politics and voice effects. He can still perform no doubt. They are talented and will be able to perform well forever. however, the recent studio produced stuff with the heavy effects on billie's weak voice just absolutely SUCKS! revolution radio was a 6/10 at best, everything after pretty much sucks in my opinion. Your political persuasion is probably closer aligned to Billie Joe than mine, as I was not awake back then... but I can appreciate that they are so talented and deserve to just be watched because when they jam.... they jam

I was at this show. This song came on and i was like OH MY GOD! I was going absolutely mental when everyone around me was just standing there. Then all the Fans who knew this album seemed to find each other and scream it to each other. Im suprised you cant hear my "I just need a little time... WWWWAAAOOOOO!"

so lovely to see, i just switched from the PVHS tape of this song to this and saw them on the big stage and thought 'heck, it's going to be crap.' But as soon as they started playing it was just like 1989 all over again. Same goddamn amazing band and i'm waiting for their next classic-style album. :-)

I remember being in the pit of a Green Day concert, in Chula Vista, CA. Whenever Billie played a Smoothed out slappy song, everyone stopped moving, i was the only one jumping hard, only one singing the lyrics and another guy next to me but thats about it, and everyone around me was pissed as fuck for jumping around like a maniac...I fucking love it!!!!!

Maybe some fans in the crowd came to listen to Green Day because they like 'Alternative Rock'. You know these sort of people.. I used to listen to Alternative Rock all the time and didn't give a damn about any other genre or looking at the history of Rock N' Roll. Maybe I got into Green Day after listening to their Alternative albums like American Idiot.. but then I was able to have the curiosity into seeing their history. Something some fans don't do. I'm glad there are fans that have though.:D

I just don't like how everybody thinks 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours was their first album, when really it's a compilation of their first album, 39/Smooth, and their first two EPs, 1,000 Hours and Slappy.

This is so fucking cool. I love that they still play one or two songs from this period at their concerts. The audience clearly, for the most part, has no idea what they're listening to.
