Desde el concierto "Heroes Concert" en el estadio Twickenham de Londres, de nuevo Sir Tom Jones nos canta otro tema. Esta vez interpreta todo un himno, el conocido: "Green, Green Grass Of Home".

This is the beauty of Tom Jones as an artist. He first released this song in 1967 and he has sung it thousands of times, he still sings it with the passion and emotion of a first performance. He arguably actually sings it better today than he originally did in my humble opinion.

Every time I hear this song I’m reminded of a 19:year old Marine who served with my older brother in the Vietnam conflict. This song came out at that time,my brother would send newspapers from what area he was serving in that newspaper would be the listed the kia’s and mia’s , He circled the name of one of his buddies who was in boot camp with him at MCRD in San Diego,this young man would come to our house several times ,as did many of his buddies ,but our family grew quite close to this sweet quiet unassuming boy. My mother kept in touch with all of his buddies families even after boot camp,so she wrote to the mother of the bit whose name my brother had circled . After they spoke she said that it was indeed her son ,what my mother would receive in the mail a few days later I will never forget . It was a packet of newspaper clippings of his funeral services and a letter from his C.O. I’m now 71 I will never forget what i read that day. His C.O. said that her son was hit by a sniper while on patrol and died instantly,but the other thing that is burned in my memory is a statement he made snout her son,while on patrol in one area he picked up a small Vietnamese child while on patrol and carried them for quite some time. I dedicate this song to Cpl. Larry Nehring USMC and to all our military who served in every war from the beginning of time .

I am nearly 75 and still get goosebumps. Memories are floating back, I am young again and enjoying life Don't get it wrong, I still enjoy life, but different. I am happy , I was born at that time and lived the music.

Hello amazing fan. Thank you for your beautiful comment. I’ve seen a whole lot of “RIP” attached to my name all over the internet. This is the reason I decided to debunk this false new of my demise. Late Ton Jones was the one who conceived the twist on Romeo and Juliet with composer, John Donald Robb. He died on the 11th of August of cancer in his home in Sharon. Please disregard all the false publications on the internet.I’m still alive and much healthy. Thank you beloved fan. For further clarification,I added my personal mailing address on the description and on the Channel banner. Thank you so much, may you have a beautiful day ahead❤🙏🙏❤....

I sure do miss the 70s and 80s. The music today is not even the same. Sometimes I wish I could find a time machine and go back in time. Life was much easier and everyone enjoyed life! Is this your favorite song?
@formicapple2 Жыл бұрын
Wouldn’t think he is 80. One of the greatest entertainers. Did not realise what the song was about a man about to die.
