You need to mention that conversion from electricity to hydrogen is inefficient, losing at least 20%. Then compression for storage looses another 10%. Finally, converting hydrogen back to electricity looses another 30%, so the overall efficiency is less than 50%. The round-trip (charge/discharge) efficiency of LiFePO4 batteries is better than 92%, a lot better than hydrogen. Just use hydrogen for aircraft, very hot manufacturing processes, or oxygen removal.

Thank you very much. With due respect for your expertises I have to say you are bit wrong here. Electrolyzers which produce H2 from water using electricity is a well establish technology, practical efficiencies of modern electrolyzers such as PEM electrolyzers are showing more than 80% efficiency. Though I value your comment I can not agree with 20% part.

@@power-to-x-world Sorry, how is losing 20% different to demonstrating 80% efficiency? Aren't we saying the same thing?

@@krslavin oh, sorry, yes we are telling the same. but pls remember when we convert fossil fuel to power we lost way more than 20% themodynamic cycles are way more inefficient than electrochemical processes
