Wells Gray is a mysterious area of volcanism. Not much is known about the volcanoes of Wells Gray. A unique place, sub glacial eruptions occurred under the glaciers forming unique mountains, sculpted by fire and ice.
We head to the green mountain lookout tower to observe the many volcanoes that can be seen from the platform. With views from all sides, you can see in every direction how this unique region formed as the accretionary belt grew.
The area is full over geological formations, and a plateau of lava is the canvas that the rivers use to carve the landscape. There are many waterfalls, and with massive drops, the mist causes unique cave like structures at the base of the canyon.
