I gotta cast another vote for Xenia being the fastest grower. I started a GSP frag about 2 years ago, and xenia 6 months ago. They cover roughly the same area now!

GSP is the real stunner! Its branching brother is another beauty too, love my colony of that. Branches like an sps but easy and bright and flowy like the carpet gsp

Just getting started and would really like some GSP in my tank. I've seen everyone puts it on an island, but wanted to know if it ever spreads beyond that point across the sand or will it stay localized?
@artistic_spaz372411 ай бұрын
I've had my GSP for 2 years and it hasn't grown as much as yours did in 3 months! Goes to show the difference between a rookie reefer who makes a lot of mistakes to a pro reefer!
@PhiCongDoan758711 ай бұрын
Do you believe in zero tds from the rodi unit? Which causes the corals to grow slowly? My GSP is growing slowly too. I have Xenia doesn't grow. Just stays the same size. Also my Kenya tree has been the same size.
@artistic_spaz372411 ай бұрын
@phidoan7662 I think zero or very low TDS is the goal, yes. I just did my first ICP test and there is so much wrong I don't know where to start! But I bought a dosing pump and some additives and am hoping that straightens things out (if I can ever figure it out!)

I guess I’m gonna be the first one. I had a piece of green Star polyp in my 90 gallon cube that I put in the back. Hoping that it would grow up on the wall and the rock I put it on. For whatever reason it never did anything there was a small section that grew on the wall, a very small section. Then it just disappeared. Piece on the rock also vanished and I bought that because I heard what your video was about that Green Star polyp just took off and went all over the place and I was hoping to get it on the back wall of the tank, but it just never happened.

If you were to let GSP grow on the glass how hard is it to get off later on?

Im wondering what if the island rock just taken over by gsp or maybe zoas and no place to grow, what would happen? They just stop spreading and stay where they are?
@Reefkeepers_Archive11 ай бұрын
Wrong! NOTHING grows faster then xenia 😅 Also, would love to see a video on how fast galaxea grows, im picking up a colony in a few weeks and it would be interesting on how the rates compare, and the 6 gal is loooking good 👍 Also, is your frogfish still alive, havent seen him in a long time. Another great video march, keep it up!

Is this the supposedly "branching" GSP? If you leave it alone in an island, it will start to encrust on itself and grow out tubes like branches

You say you never heard someone struggle with GSP? My tank is full of euphyllia, a RBT anemone and a bubble coral. Everything is growing reallt well except for my GSP. I tried 3 times and they never once grew. I asked my LFS and they said maybe my tank is too "clean". I don't know how true that i struggle mightily with GSP and Xenias.
