Thanks, Dom! I’m hoping they all do well in the greenhouse this year. I potted up even more of the cuttings after this video was filmed, so it is almost completely full of fig trees now lol. I almost didn’t bother posting this video as I filmed it over 2 weeks ago, so a lot will have changed, but thought I might as well anyway.

Thanks, Conor! Yeah, maybe BM does take longer to wake up than some other varieties. Of course, this was filmed over 2 weeks ago, so hopefully it’s grown more since 🤞. I’ll have to do some more updates soon. Yeah, that frost damage looked pretty bad. I hope they bounce back soon 🤞

Thanks, Sam. Yeah, this year I’ll probably try and focus on growth for these small ones. I have a few larger trees I’m hoping I can get to produce this year 🤞. Good idea to get them to branch out later in the summer 👍

Lol, yeah for some reason this year a lot of people seem to be having trouble with brebas despite the reasonably mild winter and spring. I’ll have to check on mine soon. Yeah, a greenhouse may be the best way to go for a better chance of getting a decent crop. Although I’ve still yet to get any, although most of my trees I’ve tried in the greenhouse in previous years have been very small.

Thanks, Mike. I haven’t had any fruit from any of my figs yet, although one I think should do pretty well, based on other people’s experiences would be ‘Desert King’. It’s meant to be a very reliable breba producer. I’m hoping one of mine might be able to fruit next year.

Thanks, yeah most of the ones I showed in this video will only produce main crop and will need a greenhouse to ripen in time here. But yeah there are several breba-producing figs I grow outside too. I’m hoping my ‘Brown Turkey’ (I think it’s referred to as English Brown Turkey in the US, as confusingly there are a few different varieties with the same name), that I planted in the ground might be able to ripen a few figs this year. Others I have that are meant to work well outdoors here for brebas include Kadota, Violette de Bordeaux, Desert King and Goutte D'Or. I have a number of others too, but I don’t expect any fruit from most of them as they are still quite immature.
