Hey, me too. Except I found a mercury dime. 1918-S. It was at a new building, a construction site. After it rained a couple times, I was looking at all the rocks that were dug up and exposed. And there was the dime, right on top of the surface. That’s a great find!

Braaaaaad Martin! You da man!!! Talk about great finds… each time you still and just breathe in awe, I tear up and cry a bit. I get as excited as can be for the joy you must be feeling….I so want you to have that feeling on every outing! As always, this show is essential to my mental health…lol. I no longer watch golf for nerve calming. Bwa ha ha ha. True though it is. My son walks by my room and has memorized all the people I watch on KZfaq religiously. He asked the other day if you quit filming because no how were in my Que. the next day, we are in business…now he want to go see Vermont, move there or higher up etc. Then he asks wow that Music is amazing, look up the band so we can get a cd. I told him it was you and your group. His response “ IS THERE ANYTHING THAT MAN CAN NOT DO?” can we meet Brad and see his collection’s?! It would be a year or more, I will write and ask when and if he I still ready to make the trek and hold his concentration. Anywho, happy April to you and the family…. Your biggest Kentucky Fan💕Tere

Great video as always Brad. With your videos I prefer the edited segues you do between finds. The photography/videography is interesting and eye pleasing to a nature photographer. Being an advanced amateur photographer myself, I really enjoy the shots you choose. The music away seems to complement the photography as well. It seems to me you must really love editing because you do a good job at it.

I am always intrigued when I find watch and clock parts. Pocket watches were much harder to make. Not because they were smaller but because they had to keep time no matter how they were oriented. Clocks on the other hand always had gravity affecting them on the same axis so they were easier to make. I have read broken clocks and watches were often taken apart to salvage any jewels in the movement but I do not know how true that may be. Great video.

Brad, it's a great time to be in the leaf matted grounds of the Green Mtns .. I'm certain that when you scrap the top layer of leaves away and actually "break ground" .. the "scent" of the earth beneath emits the scent of Spring and almost transmits itself through this monitor .. That earthy scent is very familiar to "ex-pat" Vermonter .. The Oil Lamp Burner top with the coiled spring was a functional part of the lamp, not just decorative .. Look at other lamp burners you have unearthed, and you will find that all, or most, will have four equidistant, slightly curved prongs to hold the lamp chimney to the burner .. On the example you found, and highlighted in this video, the spring is actually the Retainer for a glass chimney that would encompass the inside diameter of the chimney .. Or, as many of the "old school Vermonters" would call a "Chimley" .. Good video Brad, thanks for posting.

Liking the go pro shots more and more. Happy to see you're back on your feet and out in the woods. Not sure what the NY State rules are on metal detecting but there's an awesome old graphite mine outside of Ticonderoga with lots of old stone walls and remnants of old buildings. Little hike from Putnam Pond.

I have a old wall clock that you have to use a key to wind it so it keeps time . I got started collecting old money after finding a 1877 Seated Liberty Dime on my great grandfather's homestead here in Kansas . After my grandfather passed away the farm was sold but the new owner allowed my mother and us 4 kids to live there . They moved the lane from the corral to the pasture from northeast corner to the northwest corner . Then they disc the area and the Dime was laying on top of the ground .
