Advanced table. This is how I got the 10 million yen achievement. This counts towards 100%. Sorry for the pause at the start, was listening to music while playing Mahjong.

I want to say Thank You to the Yakuza community for helping me learn and finish Yakuza 0 Mahjong for 100%. I now feel I can get Yakuza Kiwami completed and don't need to be worried about Mahjong since I know how to play. Using square for Riichi was something that would have shortened my 25 hours I put into the mini game, because I was one tile away from a hand many many times, I just wasn't aware about the hidden "Riichi". Legend difficulty here I come!

Yeah I'm looking forward to Kiwami. There are a lot of short mahjong videos just trying to get people through yakuza mahjong. I wouldn't mind seeing some more just for fun mahjong videos; it's fun to watch, and you learn a lot. And hey, mahjong will always be a thing in RGG, so how can it hurt? More mahjong videos!

I was about to give up on learning this til i realized that this is similar to the asian card game where u are dealt 13(?) cards and arrange them to make a hand with straights, pairs, trips, etc. Very similar to poker hands. Only thing confusing at first was that they use tiles instead of cards. Realizin this jus made my understandin much easier. For those strugglin like I did, take time to read the instructions, memorize some tiles, play lots of rounds and u'll get the hang of it. Honestly, it's pretty fun lol.
@luls90006 жыл бұрын
No, it's not fun. It's based on luck and it's confusing as hell. You need to memorize all these ugly and messy tiles and your opponents tiles are rotated to make it even less clear. Whenever you need 1 last tile to win, you'll never get it and usually end up being Ron'ed.
@shoryu874 жыл бұрын
As a guy, who is a rookie to kanji, you can understand it. Yes, it takes time. I play mahjong a lot.
@CidGuerreiro12344 жыл бұрын
First thing is memorizing the tiles, which takes some practice. That's when Mahjong startet to "click" for me (that, and pressing Square pretty much every round).

GreenRedBlue20 I used to but saw online to make it quarter game to make it shorter, I guess since if you're bad at it you have less options to lose. Funny enough, I did win a few hours ago, but I had a very cruel thing done to me. I actually managed to come in first on a quarter game with 89,000 in total, but the game has a delay on the menu. As soon as I hit down I thought I would quit the game but it didn't count and I came up in 3rd, so I lost 30,000 points :/ sucks even more because it's somewhat hard for me to replicate Riichi
@MCHuang5 жыл бұрын
Winning 10mil was actually the first MJ achievement I got. There doest seem to be any actual difference in difficulty between the tables, just the amount you bet. So if you have the cash to burn through, it doesn't actually take too long at the high table. I just don't really understand the rules behind pon and chi, since it seems like whenever I use it I'm unable to go out even with a complete hand. But you clearly were able to on the first hand.
@KoobztheShawk2 жыл бұрын
I know you posted this 3 years ago but it is most likely that your hand had no scorable yaku in it. Normally, a hand with no pons and no chis has the "concealed" yaku. When you pon or chi, you lose that yaku and must obtain another one. Otherwise, even if the game "let you" go out, it would be worth 0 points without another yaku like a flush, or all triplets, or all simples

Paul Simmons Best thing to do is practice. Try the ranking matches, sometimes observe the opponent's tiles when they win a round and try mimicking their hands in the next round. It sounds daft but in the long run you can memorize the tiles and hands. Good luck in your playing. Also take breaks from Majhong. It's pretty annoying getting full straight in both games so try other tasks.

So I used CHI and got Craks 345, Dots 678, Dots 456, Craks 111. Then I'm left with Dots 7 and draw a Dots 7. But I don't win. Whats the deal? Isn't that a complete hand? 4 sets and one pair?!?!?!?!?! I'm forced to discard one of Dots 7 doubles I have. BS.
@GreenRedBlue206 жыл бұрын
You nearly have it but you need to have all 1-9 for one tile set and one double and one triple tiles from another tile set. For example dots 123 456 789 bamboo 55 and red dragon RRR, it should look like this for full straight. I know it's confusing and frustrating being luck based but I will say that you will get full straight without noticing.
@IISourAyyII6 жыл бұрын
I've actually gotten Full Straight twice as of now. I'm trying to get Ippatsu and Haneman and 10 million. What I try to do is make triple tiles match or get numbers in an order such as 123 or 567. If I get 234 567 for ONE tile such as DOTS would that be okay for a complete hand? Meaning would that be 2/4 sets I need besides the double I need? What I have been doing and succeeding is doing 123 then a space 567 or 555 not 444. I'm not sure but thats how I've actually been getting somewhere, mind you I've played this mini game for like 20+ hours so far. My in total game time is 281 hours, its crazy.
@Cecilff26 жыл бұрын
This is a bit late, but for others wondering, if you haven't changed the rules, you need 2 han minimum. I think thats a 1 han hand. Unless there was a Dora in play. I always turn that off because getting a full hand is annoying enough as it is.

How long does a game of Mahjong go? I was playing earlier to try to get the CP points and even if I win and quit it deducts yen from me. Do I just keep playing until a scoreboard comes up or something?
@GreenRedBlue206 жыл бұрын
Yep, once the player has no points left or after a few rounds the scoreboard should show. You can change the length of the game in change rules.
@josephcourtright80713 жыл бұрын
You can be good at mahjong just like poker. The skill for mahjong is two fold. You don't pay into someone's hand. So even when they win you don't need to payout. Then when you do score a hand you score a hand of higher value. The AI in this looks like that are constantly trying for fast hands. I would expect a good player to win 50% - 70% of their games against this AI.

I have watched hours of Mahjong tutorials, tips, example plays and tournaments, spent hours in game playing with the Advanced table and finally I started getting a hang of all the yaku's and all the details of Mahjong and actually started even winning a couple of rounds BUT ON FUCKING GOD if I dare ever get a good hand or win a round the opponents get first round riichi second hand riichi or I would win for 1 round and the rest of the rounds 2 or all 3 of them fuckers get riichi and I end up playing into their hand and losing 10k points every round. I have to play for 50 hours and maybe I will get a round where I manage to barely get second and only gain 5% towards the 10,000,000 CP. Absolutely rigged piece of shit Yakuza mahjong is.
