Sort of a post-feminist Greensleeves. We always loved the melody of this song but not the standard lyrics - supposedly written by King Henry VIII, the wife-killer. We can believe that - they're awful! So we decided to write some new lyrics. But then our AI assistant(s) at Udio refused to let us use the original melody, worried about copyrights, we guess. Okay, sure, I mean it's only been in the public domain for, what, 500 years??? (sigh) Our lyrics are below if you want to try singing them to the original melody yourself. The melody in the video is the best compromise we could come up with. Enjoy!
