I am a local and have lived here for all my 19 years of living. It is nice how things have improved around here but honestly it is getting to the point where things are too noisy. I don't want this city to turn into a big metropolitan, we can drive to Charlotte or Atlanta for that. I also wish there would be a bigger emphasis on public transport options to get around the city. I do appreciate how unlike other American cities we don't have a faux city center, we have an actual beautiful historical city center.

I’ve lived in Greenville since 82, I’ve worked for the City since 2008. I don’t have any firm numbers or data to back this up… but it *feels* like a ton of blue state people have relocated to Greenville and have brought their politics with them. Greenville used to be considered the reliably conservative part of the state. That is changing., sad to say. There’s just a different atmosphere, a different spirit about the place now. I liked it better before.

We will continue being conservative in Greenville. Will it change down the road politically? 🤷🏾♂️ I don’t think so, as long as the Church continues to dominate the landscape here. I know a lot of people don’t go to church anymore, but hey, a lot do, and they are looking to get their families into church. And if you've been here for a while, you have noticed that Greenville is the buckle of the Bible Belt. You're not gonna find more churches per square mile than in Greenville County, straight up!
