I missed the rematch against Cal and homecoming against Washington State. But I was at every game Reggie played in the Coliseum and he is by far the best football player i ever saw. Troy Polamalu can be in the discussion as the best but USC rarely broke a sweat during those days and the games that we were in for a fight Reggie put the Trojans on his back and Reggie won games by himself in crunch time like Kobe or Jordan did. "The Bush Push" is what people remember but Notre Dame will remember him breaking off two long TD runs that were huge in that game. He got us to the Orange Bowl the way he played against UCLA and we don't even make it to play Texas if he doesn't single handedly beat very tough Fresno St with one of the greatest games ever. He deserves to get his Heisman back. No question.

Ramonce Taylor did all those things for Texas in 2005. And did them quite well. With the exception of QB, most of Texas's offense that year was a "by committee" approach. There wasn't any particular star RB, or WR, and four different players got at least 100 kick return yards on the season. USC took the opposite approach and leaned heavily on star players like Reggie Bush, Lendale White, and Dwayne Jarrett to get most of the yards and scoring. In the end, Texas scored more points per game than USC (while usually clearing the bench in the 3rd quarter), but all the chatter was about USC's offense because "They have Reggie Bush and Lendale White and Dwayne Jarrett, and their stats are well-padded." USC needed a 400-yard performance from Reggie Bush to survive mighty Fresno State. Texas wouldn't have had anyone gain more than 100 yards against Fresno State because it wouldn't have been the least bit necessary.
