Greg Anderson wins his fifth NHRA Pro Stock Championship

2 жыл бұрынOne round after clinching his fifth Camping World NHRA Pro Stock championship in a thrilling side-by-side race against reigning champ Erica Enders, Greg Anderson finished off one of the most rewarding weekends of his career when he defeated teammate Kyle Koretsky to win his 99th career NHRA Wally trophy.

This reminds me in 1987, (that's the year I was born) in the Championship Finals where Joe Amato vs Dick Lahaie competing for the Championship and they race each other in the Semi Finals in Top Fuel. Who ever wins will be the Championship. Now this is repeated where I'm seeing now: Greg Anderson vs Erica Enders for the Pro Stock Championship.

Why ‘world’ champ? Why not just NHRA champ? Where else in the world is this formula raced ??

This is a great point especially now with Camping World as the primary sponsor: Camping World World Champion. Weirder is that the NATIONAL Hot Rod Association crowns a WORLD champion. And all the races are held on American soil. You also see this used in the NBA (only North American teams participate) and NFL (only American teams participate). Very silly when compared to legitimate world championships in other motorsports and athletics.

@@topfuel333 Australia has its own sanctioning body ANDRA which has a slightly different formula, and doesn’t compete with the NHRA, also I’m not aware of any Int’l teams that compete on the NHRA pro stock circuit

@@circlejerk6861 nhra actually run under the FIA rule book but it's not made a big deal of, a Russian team took part and defeated Steve Jackson in first round of Pro Mod in Vegas 2 weeks ago.
