Gorgeous Greg, just gorgeous. It's so cool when having to "move cattle" amounts to actually leading the cattle instead of driving them. I have so much fun basically asking my cows to come to me where I want them to go rather than having to try to forcibly push them. They're so easy to work with, rather than against them like some of my family has for years. I set up a new paddock, open the gate and holler "Here girls" and here they come at a run....it's just so awesome.

Haha, grass heaven! I can't remember if I told you we got a new place or not. It's not big, and half woods, but enough to run a few cows maybe. Got a milk cow (I like milking) and a few local hair sheep to start managing the grass. I hope to build that little flock of hair sheep to help us buy some south polls in the future and find a lease in the area. It may take us a while, but I look forward to building it all up slowly!😊

Such a wonderful operation. In my area there are large Angus farms on small acreage, eating down to the dirt and round bales 12 months a year, also messy sloppy mud. Kinda sad.

I have three steers living on 2.5 acres. They’ve been there a year but I’ve owned the land for 4 years. It will be interesting to see what changes they make to the soil (if any)… But in summer it’s usually trash 😆

Good morning. Love the videos. What is your answer to overgrown pasture in August. We have a section of the farm that we could not get to because of incomplete fence and I am just grazing it for the first time now. It is in excess of 3 feet tall and has seed heads and I am passing sheep over it quickly (I have more grass than animals right now-35 Illinois acres with 60 sheep). I’m inclined to clip it but I don’t want to mess up my winter stock pile. What percentage of your total grazed acre should be winter stockpiled?

That one cow running out in front of you reminded me of a Democrat crossing the road. They run out to block you, but then they slow down and saunter in front of you not a care, not a hurry. That one cow ran into the path you were driving, then slowed down to a walk.
