Wonderful presentation. My sons thymus was removed as a 6.5 pound newborn during heart surgery. He now suffers with severe immunodeficiency, is unable to build immunity to vaccines, has chronic infections, has increased risk of cancer, autoimmune disease, infections. Thymectomy during heart surger has been proven to lead to severe covid in some patients. It is likely to cause early death. They have known since the 1930s how vital the thymus is in children when they studied what happens after they irradiate it, but they still remove it to this day. In the 1980s they placed these heart surgery babies thymuses into AIDS patients. They said the babies don't need it but I guess AIDS patients do. Makes no sense. What if my son gets AIDS or gets cancer and needs chemo? It's nice to see someone promoting the thymus. Thank you again.

I’m so sorry your son is struggling! That must be so hard for your family. Is he taking a thymus glandular to replace what he doesn’t have? It’s just basically freeze-dried bovine or ovine thymus gland in a capsule, available over-the-counter, and would contain all the hormones and peptides that he needs for immune modulation.

Thanks. Good talk. There was a recent study (2020 JAMA) of older people who were longer term cyclists, so had a higher level of exercise than their cohort. The had preserved immune function and thymus function. Of course, the impetus for intervention by pill is because most people won't get enough physical activity and there's money in it.

Just read in a NY Times article that supplementation with Metformin (for purposes of anti-aging) is self-defeating in a study showing that Metformin greatly neutralizes the anti-aging benefits of exercise (which greatly enhances mitochondrial vigor).. In light of this I'd say that exercise is the natural alternative substitute for Metformin in this cocktail...

Has anyone done a comparison of epigenetic ages of senescent cells vs. other cells in a tissue? If the senescent cells have a higher average epigenetic age, and an invigorated immune system acts to remove them, then wouldn't there be an apparent decrease in average epigenetic age for the tissue without the other cells experiencing any epigenetic rejuvenation?

Interesting... so the PROGRAMMED AGING (genetical program for aging, selected by evolution) works by making cells listen to whether the thymus is present... when it is not present, the cells "know" that it is time for them to age, thanks to genetic program. But they can be spoofed by adding the thymus.

You looking much younger. It's not only the hair(which I assume is dyed), but face looks 10-15 yrs younger from previous videos... Is it possible to naturally restore thymus. Fasting 3 days increase growth hormone by 300%, if we do this once a month will it have the same impact. Also, Berberine can be used as a natural alternative to Metformin. I think this research is the most likely to succeed. It would be interesting to combine this treatment with plasma replacement therapy... I think it could accelerate results exponentially

@@galtbarber2328 did not know that. In the presentation Greg referred to “anabolic” effect. So would HGH on its own be anabolic? The other life extension methods I’ve heard David Sinclair talk involve Intermittent Fasting. But IF is not conducive to adding muscle. And muscle is the best way to ensure better quality of life (maybe not length) which makes me pause jumping into IF 🥲
@tangan6228

Bodybuilders abuse HGH, taking 10 times normal physiological levels, at those doses it is unhealthy and shortens life. I would expect that dose is super important in what is optimal in achieving thymus regeneration. At specific dose HGH is well tolerated with an acceptable safety profile.
