4 minutes away from watching the whole thing. I usually never watch a long interview like this in one sitting. I just like the subtle blunt honest laid back interview. Greg wrestled during what I considered the golden era of WWF, during my childhood.

I'm old enough to have had the privilege of seeing live matches of both Johnny Valentine and Greg Valentine. The name Valentine will always be a name associated with the sport of pro wrestling !! Greg valentine is truly the authentic, real deal just like his dad. He took the business more serious than maybe all other wrestlers when it came to giving people their monies worth. He is sincere and I would love to sit and talk with him simply as a friend. God bless you Greg as you made your family and dad extremely proud. Your the best !!!!

By far, one of your best interviews! As a young kid I remember watching The Hammer and Hogan, and they would tear the house down. And they would sell out 3 months in a row, 1st Valentine would go over by DQ, 2nd, Valentine would win by count out, and 3rd Hogan would go over in the steel cage! But every show they headlined at Worcester centrum, in Worcester Massachusetts would be sold out. Thanks for the great memories Mr Valentine, and thanks Hannibal for letting me relive them

That was the formula that the WWWF(and WW) used. Heels who matched up against a baby face champion usually had a three match series around the horn that ended with the final Blowoff match at Madison Square Garden. This way a baby face champ had 4 good feuds a year.

Speaking of that, I remember Greg was the first guy I saw actually use the Figure 4 as a signature finishing move. This may have even been before Ric Flair adopted it as his move. I remember the old MSG days, when Backlund was still a young champion. Greg mentions it here a little bit. They gave Greg a big push as a "master" of the figure 4, and everyone was carried out on stretchers when he put that move on. I remember one time in the storylines he broke Strongbow's leg with the move. They had Chief Jay walking around with a leg brace for months.

Great interview! He didn’t speak badly of anyone. I had the pleasure of meeting Greg Valentine and Harley Race at a Marriott after a show in Hershey, Pa. His demeanor was just like in this interview. I told him how much I respected him and his father’s work. Some girl came up and asked him to dance. He asked me to watch his beer then disappeared. After 10 minutes I finally realized he left.

When I was a little kid in the late '70s, early '80s I lived in the Northeast of the US, and WWF was on TV there every weekend. This is before the "rock and wrestling" era. Back when Andre was the biggest name in the sport, and Hulk Hogan was still a heel and had not yet broken big with the Rocky 3 movie. Greg The Hammer was one of my favorite guys back then. He was the first one I ever saw use the Figure 4 leg lock as a finisher and known as a "master" of the move. I think this is before Ric Flair even started using it. This is back in the days when Vince used to commentate along with Bruno, wearing those old "news reporter" style sport coats. It was the MSG glory days, when Backlund was still a young champion. Great time to be a wrestling fan for sure.
