When I worked for Verizon a Kyocera representative sent me a duraforce pro original model... To destroy. I slowly ran it over with my car, I threw it off the roof of my garage onto my driveway I tossed it in a creek in the middle of winter and left it there for an hour under the ice, I stuck it in an oven on 200 and left it there for an hour, these phones as far as I can tell are literally indestructible and I always let parents know if they're going to get their kid a phone and they don't want to endlessly replace them, buy one of these they won't be able to break them

A guy I went fishing with dropped his in a lake in the Adirondacks and couldn’t find it but when he came back next week to fish he jumped in after seeing it at the bottom and it still worked after he bought the same exact phone again after he lost it he switched back to the old one and still has the new one in a box collecting dust probably never needed as a replacement because he would drop and kick that thing every 10 feet when he would walk around and never even cracked or got dead pixels and my friend he is a avid outdoorsmen and beats the hell out of everything if you think it’s durable he’ll show you otherwise but if he can’t kill it I don’t think a lot of other people can

I work in construction and I have the duraforce pro 2 for over 5 years with no case or screen protector. They are a great phone for a tough job environment.

I had a Motorola Quantico. It went overboard. So got my first KYOCERA as a replacement. That was 12 years ago. On my 3rd KYOCERA smart phone. These are insanely durable. The take water, drops, and even keys Sunday the screen in a pocket. Never scratch the screen. Never break the screen. Never damage the phones operation. These are really tough phones. I won't have anything else.

I had this brand in the past, on Sprint. Too bad they don't make a AT&T/TMobile version. I've moved on to UleFone 3WT (4g and GMRS radio) and now, the Oukitel WP15. But it was always a decent rugged phone.

The replaceable battery is honestly the nicest part about it. I hate hate hate that popular smart phone manufacturers seal the battery inside. Once it reaches the end of its life its really difficult for the consumer to replace. Though I would imagine the replaceable battery design was implemented as the phone attracts enterprise customers more than consumers.

Have the Pro 2. Love that it would survive a nuke blast. However... WORST CAMERA EVER ON A PHONE. Low storage. Need to upgrade. Wondering if they improved the camera on this one. Also, is there s way to charge the extra battery when not in the phone?

Realize after I posted my comment I have a tendency to film a lot of really loud stuff and they usually never turn out with good quality audio they're always a lot of clipping and you can't even understand what I'm talking about in videos unless I'm talking really quietly

If only they sold them unlocked. I loved mine back when i had verizon. Even accidentally ran mine over with my f250 and just had a minor scratch on the back of the case.

I wouldn't try this phone untill it's been out for a while, the DuraForce Ultra 5G had a ton of problems and used on Ebay there are many with cracked and dead screens, I have all the Kyocera phones before the Ultra 5G plus the overseas only phones like the Torque G01 G02, G03, G04, 5G and they still work and look great. I hate they stopped the physical return home & recent keys and look more like every other phone, Aside from my Sonim XP8 Kyocera had the best front stereo speakers, with music or eq ap the bass can be turned up and sound much better. This new Pro 3 should have better speakers a bigger battery - night vision or thermal cam or just something to make it stand out from any other rugged phone. There are many other rugged phones with much higher specs & features for much less than $900. If this new one shows it won't have the problems the Ultra 5G had I will wait until they show up used on Ebay for less than half the price. It just isn't worth so much money and then end up having to deal with warranty issues and down time. Kyocera used to be my go to phone but with the Ultra 5G and this, I will just stick with my XP8, is way way tougher, gets better reception, has physical return home recent keys, three programmable keys and much better front speakers.

After some reading on Kyocera website I see the screen is Gorilla Glass Victus that is OLED like Samsung so will 100% have problems like dead pixels - Image burn - green/yell lines or just die all together, the battery is only 4280mAh with no charger for $900 ? 100% not getting it now, will wait till sold used like the Ultra 5G just to have in collection no way as main phone, Sucks Kyocera is going downhill used to make great phones.

@@78gagta78 It does have sapphire shield screen. The 5G and duraforce mainline have sapphire screens. The duraforce 2 doesn't list having a sapphire shield but it does.

I would be curious to know where you got your information from, because the website says it's using Gorilla Glass Victus.

@@gebs123 I didn't see there was a dropdown under specs, you are right, it is using Victus but the fact it's OLED means it will be problematic unless Kyocera can make better screens than Samsung, the phone still isn't worth $900, if it was $350 mabe.

Had my pro 2 for several years now. I want to shoot it with my gun and see if that's will even scratch it! LOL. My only complaint (s) is that I've had to reboot it a lot in the past year. Plus, the complaint I've had since I got it is that the camera SUCKS! Wondered if they improved that on the 3...

Only reason I'm upgrading is because I put a metal scribe in my phone pocket for some reason and then leaned against a welding table. I used to show people how hard the screen was by pulling out my pocket knife and dragging the tip across the screen. Not a single scratch, I threw it across a room at a brick wall, threw it onto asphalt, and barely even a scratch in the plastic but that's not a big deal. I hope this one will be even close but it's way faster so I can deal with the softer screen material hopefully.

Thanks for answering the question that the video glossed over. The sapphire screen is the only reason I bought the 5g & was hoping for a faster version with a better camera 😢

I didnt even realize they came out with new phone i have the ultra 5g and still paying it off from Verizon. Was 800 year and half ago. I see its 170 on amazon now. As much as i want this new phone i not gonna do it. I cant believe how fast the price dropped.

Contact Kyocera before the factory 2 year warranty is out, and request a new one. You'll get a new phone and 4 years out of the original price you paid for the phone.

The price comes from the fact that these phones are practically unbreakable. You can smash them, run them over, drop them on concrete, go swimming with them, put them in the dishwasher, and pretty much use them as a hammer, all without worrying. They're just built like bricks, which is perfect for people who live or work in rough environments. But certainly, if you're looking for computing performance versus price these phones aren't worth consideration.

This phone is junk. People who knowe know I'm the poster child for rugged phones. I had this for 3 months and now the screen is cracked and the camera lens is broke two. The phone requires a restart every other day because it has trouble functioning. Don't waste your money. Buy a Black view phone. Much more durable and rugged. Its equal in performance but rugged phones give that up a bit in general . I've literally run a Blackview over with my truck and sent it flying into a curb when I left it on my car roof but the phone was undamaged . 100% truth.
