You are correct. Some folks will shorten the pin box further, to save length. Other choose to be over that length. Many do, but it is a conscious choice you have to make. I would note that some locations dictate far shorter lengths than 65 feet, others allow much longer. It can even differ from the type of road in which you are travelling. There are even some rules that limit the length of the trailer itself. Good point!

it's a technicality. Greg is correct. But in the states, I would probably be comfortable pushing 80+ ft. Being a private setup, it is unlikely you would be hassled because of the various length laws across the country. Cops just don't seem to want or have the inclination to mess with an RV. I love the setup Greg has. I personally am not a smart car guy, so I would set up the deck to haul a bigger vehicle such as a Ford Escape or something, with the ramps that could slide in and out of slots under the deck length ways, and a recessed hitch. With my Raptor, at 40ft, I'd still be shorter than my 06 KW W900L studio sleeper and 53ft trailer I drive commercially.

@@rvhaulers I recently found your channel and videos. They are very informative. I would prefer the 670 , shorter, but still tall sleeper. I would have one very similar to, but few changes, about like " Leroy", with a Watts Stacker. But in a emerald green and gold. The whole point of this video, is to determine length combo. Now, I'm curious, does 65 ft combo, really apply to hdt? I would have to think part of the regulation, is because a typical pick up truck, wouldn't be able to stop or control a longer trailer? The next comment from Charles Power. About enforcement of these rules are a little laxed because they have more important things to do.i mean I see a lot RVs that are more 44- 50+ being sold. I guess what I'm trying to get at, how often do you hear about this regulation being enforced. Like you said every state and Providence is different . Sorry for such a long comment. Nicely Done.
